Central location in the heart of Colombo, with a comfortable setting providing all the standards you would expect of this kind of hotel. Checkin was easy. I even got a room upgrade but was facing the construction on the next building. Read about this in the reviews before arriving, so I was prepared for noise, which was actually not too bad as the windows are thick enough to block any noise. The room was clean beside a few hairs from the guest before and some dirt on the bathroom floor. After the first cleaning by housekeeping, amazing guys, btw, everything was fine. A very nice add on is the free minibar which is alcohol free but as I just drink non alc I really appreciated the 4 water bottles and other drinks , such as lots of teas, which were freshly filled up every day. The breakfast buffet was a big variation, and in my opinion, everyone can find something. Of cause, there is some difference to a la carte, but that's normal to expect as buffet quality can not provide the same as a just made dish. Other than that, I just wondered why there is sugar added in everything like fresh juice or even plain yogurt. For the evening I had two times the dinner buffet which was good but next time probably I would rather choose a la carte. The only negative I would have like to be informed in advance was the price of the second dinner, which had sushi and was higher than the usual dinner price. I was informed 3 times by different waiters and the restaurant manager that there will be sushi this time but not that the price is higher. That was a little strange . Why not provide ALL the information instead of just half. It's totally fine to pay more as sushi requires a lot of work to prepare but then at least tell cause I can imagine other guests would make a huge deal out of that which service could avoid by telling in advance.

A fantastic stay at this location. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Our two families 7 members spent Monday through Tuesday there. It was wonderful to be greeted with a welcome drink at the beginning. They let us check in early without charging extra upon request as we have three childrens. We had reserved two rooms, but as soon as we found one that wasn't comfy, they moved us to another, more comfortable room of our choice. Every member of the staff, including the manager of the front office Tharushi, was always approachable and friendly. They made arrangements for us to ride in taxis while they assisted us in boarding the vehicle. We had a terrific time at the best swimming pool—the rooftop pool. Our entire experience was excellent. I sincerely appreciate your support. Thanks to everyone in making our journey a memorable one.

Clean, good position and a big terrace where you can have a nice breakfast. It really does remind the past beauty, now it’s ok, maybe could be a little be more well manintained

Highly recommended about the lions hotel .room service is very good Manager is very friendly and kindly .very clean and comfortable room.

The rooftop pool was very good. We were there in the quiet season so was very relaxing may be busy if fully boooked. Room was very nice. Down the alleyway next next to hotel takes you to the main road next to the railway line/waterfront.
