The room was HUGE, as was the bathroom. We had so much space, and a great view. A juice was provided on arrival which was a nice touch as well. The host was super helpful in organising a tuk tuk for us when we wanted to go visit our friends down the road. The location is only about a 5-10 minute drive from the park entrance, which is super convenient as well.

What a beautiful and tranquil place!! We had a glorious couple of days at Wild Lake Side. Milan and his brother were such fantastic and accommodating hosts. They arranged an amazing safari for us with a very knowledgeable guide. We also went fishing on the lake which was such a laugh and so much fun. The cabin itself was stunning and so comfortable with all the amenities we could need. The location was beyond beautiful, waking up to the sound of the jungle is an unforgettable experience. Milan also showed us around his spice garden and organised our onwards transport to Ella with Duminda who was the best taxi driver we've had!! Thank you so much for an amazing stay, see you next time!

Buddika is a very pleasant and attentive host. When we arrived in the evening, he treated us to a sour-sop smoothie, and when we returned from the safari, he offered us refreshing papaya juice. The room is very clean with a view of the park. It's just a couple of minutes to the park, which is very convenient for heading out on safari in the morning. We booked the safari through Buddika, and everything was great. We had a private jeep, and our driver, Udar, spotted animals that we wouldn't have noticed otherwise and told us a lot about the animals and plants.

Wow where to start with this review. I have visited many places in the world and this has to be the experience that will stick with me forever. The hospitality I received from Janik and his mother from the moment I arrived, to the moment I left, was simply outstanding. As a solo female traveller, it is important to feel secure and the reviews for this hotel were what initially stuck out to me; I can confirm they are not wrong. In the short two days I was there, I felt like I was home. Starting with the room, it was super clean & spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The outdoor bathroom was very private and it was a real treat to shower under the stars; the accommodation is even better than the pictures! They even offered laundry service when I arrived which was much appreciated. Next onto the food: I ate all my meals at the property for two days and Janik’s mother is an outstanding cook of Sri Lankan food. Breakfast was huge and varied, great coffee (they roast their own coffee beans) and juice/smoothies too! I also took her cooking class offering and we had so much fun cooking up the biggest feast you can imagine - I would totally recommend doing this. The garden is packed full of all different sorts of organic fruits and vegetables and we picked some of these in the morning, ready to use when making dinner. Janik was also kind enough to show me the area and the sugar cane fields, which was a great insight into local life. The property is tucked off the main road which makes it very quiet and peaceful, but still it is only minutes from the national park entrance. Lastly onto the main event of the safari, which was the most wonderful experience; Janik organised everything with an experienced driver and even accompanied me which I really appreciated. We saw many elephants (absolutely beautiful), crocodiles, birds, buffalo, deer and wild boar.
