The service is absolutely outstanding. Of course the view from the room is breathtaking, with a bath overlooking the lake. The pool is fantastic, with a view of the mountain range. The bed!!! This boutique guest house is fantastic, located in front of the Samabe lake. This is such a peaceful, relaxing and quiet environment. A real paradise for all nature lovers - located just a few minutes away from Dambulla center. For now, there are only 2 cottages in the property. So basically the stay is very private (no noise around). The cottage size is very good with a terrace from where you can enjoy the view of the lake. The personnel is very friendly - and insisted to invite me for a lovely boat tour on the lake for free. Surprisingly there was no mosquito in the cottage whereas we could think that there might be due to the proximity of the lake. The WiFi was working very fine. All was perfect. From this place, i did visit Dambulla (e.g Golden temple) and its surroundings- up to Habarana for a half a day safari (mainly elephants spotted) in the national park of Minneriya/Eco lodge. Spent 2 wonderful nights …and wish I would have more time to stay more !

During my stay, I loved my room with its high ceilings and balcony where Doggo Tuppy naps every afternoon. It's amazing how cool and comfortable the room felt with the strong fan despite the hot weather in Dambulla during April and May.

One of the most pleasant surprises of this trip was Api's hospitality. He shared his insights and experiences of doing business in Sri Lanka, and he even went out of his way to pick me up from my previous hostel, which was easily 15km away. All the sites were wonderful - Sigiriya (the rock), Dambulla Caves (Amazing - especially cave #2), Polonnaruwa (Ancient City), Elephant Safari saw 40 to 50 elephants - Mothers and their children on a ridge at the very end of the safari! It was a great day to be able to see that many in the game reserve all together. I would spend minimum 3 but really 4 nights up here as the travel day really doesn't count because you aren't running out to see anything until the next day, so this way you have 3 full days to see all the sites and it isn't rushed. Also, you go out early in the morning as it gets too bloody hot in the middle of the day.

Dambulla is a great place to explore, especially if you are a nature lover. Lots of greenery is preserved amidst the cave temples. Frescos at the Dambulla cave temple are amazingly beautiful. Inside the caves are cold though the outside temperature is steaming hot in the summer.
Sigiriya rock is another attraction near Dambulla. It will take a half a day tour to climb up and down but if you want to explore more, the area surrounding the Sigiriya rock garden is vast and can wonder around the rock garden and historical ruins for hours. Good for hikers.
Ibbankatuwa ancient grave yard, Pidurangala (A rock with nice view at the top, situated parallel to Sigiriya Rock are some of other nearby attractions.

First of all we would like to thank the owner and the management for giving us the opportunity to stay at this beautiful resort.
Colin and Ajit did a wonderful job of looking after us
They are hard working, sincere and committed in their work.
Few things that need to be sorted out were the overgrown creeper in the front which is preventing sunlight from entering the front of the house.
Lighting in the room and bathroom need to be brighter. A stronger Wi-Fi would be welcome

The staff were amazing, they helped us with anything we needed and were incredibly friendly. The food was great, the Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious and so were the curries and kottu we had for dinner - the portions are big! The rooms have an incredible view of the nearby mountains and the hotel itself is setback from the main road and is quiet, the room was clean and had everything we needed. It was great value and we would definitely recommend it and we would definitely stay again!
This hotel offers exceptional service to its customers. It is located in its own jungle with a beautiful pool, near the city centre and all the things you need to see nearby, bonus is the very friendly dog pet Bruno. Siddu the manager always helped us with whatever we needed and even beyond. They also helped us to arrange travels for our next days in Sri Lanka with the driver Samen who gave us really local vibe and lots of information. Highly recommended. Thank you!
We booked Vishudda room with private pool . The room was large and looked as in picture. The bed was comfortable. The Aircon worked well. Bawantha , the manager , was helpful. The location is around 2 kms from Dambulla Cave temple but in the interior countryside. The hotel is surrounded by thick vegetation. The food at the restaurant was ok. The private pool is good when clean. It's a good stay if u can put with bit of maintenence issues.

We loved the property. It is very cosy and clean. Best hotel, best breakfast and best stuff. Owner is so helpful and super kind. He arranged safari trip and take us to the Pidurangala hike in the very early morning. He even took us to the Dambulla cave temple without any payment. If you want to visit Dambulla I can't imagine better place than Gamagedara Resort.

Stayed at the hotel for 3 days, exploring the area around Dambulla. Beautiful, very clean and well maintained area, clean air conditioned room. Very attentive and friendly host, his wife cooked delicious breakfasts and dinners every day. The house is off the main road, but we were in a car and saw this as an advantage as it was very quiet and peaceful all around.

I had a wonderful stay at Kingdom gate hotel. The friendly staff provided a warm welcome (Ceylon tea) , and I tried some Sri Lanka food was delightful. Service was excellent.

Very wonderful accommodation just outside Dambulla. The boss welcomed us with a drink and looked after us the whole time. The boss met the individual needs of each of us. The breakfasts were plentiful and always with a nice comment about Sri Lankan cuisine. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we felt very happy, friendly and safe here.
The room was super clean and the staff very very friendly. We arrived late (11 pm) and they were here opening the door for us. The host waited for us. And the next morning, he brings us to visit Sigirya. It's not the king of quick visit, he gave us a while tour visit!

Very convenient location for Dambulla. 100m from tuk tuk and scooter rental. Sri Lankan breakfast was really enjoyable, usually much more than we could eat. The owner was very helpful and made sure we got our bus for the next stage of our journey.
The hotel is near all the main attractions of Dambulla and the host always helps with any arrangements regarding tours/tuk tuk for example to Sigiriya. Tea, water and also all served meals have been amazing.
