The food is remarkable, making it the best place we've stayed in Sri Lanka and the ideal spot to experience the country's cuisine and nature. The cocktails were so tasty we had one with every meal. Either the hotel has meanwhile improved or others were just unlucky, but we didn’t experience any of the negative aspects mentioned in the comments. We had a brand new refurbished and very clean room with touch screens, air-con was working perfectly. The pool is very clean, we spent several hours in there. Breakfast buffet has a large choice (both western and Sri Lanka) with great quality. We also went for the diner buffet, wich also offered excellent food at a reasonable price (6000 rupies for two persons except drinks). The hotel lies in walking distance from the train station on a main road, but our room headed to the inner court with the swimming pool and we could not hear any traffic. I can’t say anything about the TV program as I’m not staying in hotels to watch TV.

Ended up cancelling on the spot- the host keeps no outside lights on, because he is supposed to be closed and he fears the neighbors finding out that he is quietly accepting guests on booking.com. A very creepy place and a real jerk of a host.
