The hotel is small and cozy located right on the beach. The size of the room is generous and they were cleaned well. We had some amazing food at the restaurant: banana pancakes, fruits, curd, lobster with seafood, kottu. The attention and services the staff gives is unparalleled in all my travels - they will give you flowers when you make photos, escort you to car at 4am, run to give you umbrella or help with moving sun beds. An unexpected stay! We had to replan our trip last minute due to a cancellation on a connecting flight. We had plans to get to Kandy / Ella, but they were all scuppered. But we found ourselves in Galle, where we had wanted to visit but knew our initial plans would not afford. So as they say, every cloud.... The Green Casa is a beauty to behold. A 150 year Dutch merchant villa that's been redesigned - keeping the old features in tact, with nostalgia added from an age long gone and the feel of the old colonial days. There has been a lot of respect in maintaining the history of the architecuture. Old pictures taken by the owner bring to light the history of communities in Sri Lanka. We arrived to Mohan, who gave is the warmest Sri Lankan. He looks after the property and the guests there, and made us feel so welcomed. We arrived to welcome drinks, and felt so spoilt during our 2 night stay. They somehow knew that we had a difficult trip to get there, and even if they didn't, we felt they knew. Thank you to the team at Green Casa! It was the most beautiful stay!
