The room was with a beach view and unexpected. They have arranged breakfast buffet which was worth the pay. The price of dine in dinner was also very affordable and they had varieties. The hotel and room was very clean. The pool is never crowded. I would like to stay a day more, but Mirissa doesn't have that much tourist spot to enjoy.

We had a great stay at Colive, so good that we even booked a week longer! Everyone who works there is so lovely. It was nice to have access to fast internet, a kitchen and a pool. It’s the perfect setup for digital nomads who needs to do some work but also want to enjoy their time in Sri Lanka.

The reviews for this property are quite unfair. It’s a great place to stay, with obviously a stunning location. Yes, the building is a little dated but I’d just call it rustic. The rooms were clean and spacious, with fridge fan, big bathroom, excellent balcony with the top views, sheets are washed and cleaned and no mouldy walls as other reviews said.
The grounds of the hotel have loads of seating areas, access to the river or small beach and was obviously designed for large amounts of guests, but when I stayed I think I had the whole hotel to
myself.
The staff were very friendly to me, it’s just a matter of being friendly back, despite any language barrier. And of course the price is great value. I really enjoyed my stay and actually booked an extra night.
If you want a big historic place, maybe all to yourself, give it a try. Don’t listen to the other bad reviews as they are just waay too fussy.

We would high recommend the company “BOAT SAFARI IN KOGGALA” as a fab & knowledgeable company to do a boat trip around Koggala lake. They were so knowledgeable about plants, wildlife and the islands. A fascinating 2 hrs. We would definitely recommend. They can organise tuk tuks to get you there and back also.

Ahangama town has changed from a very busy fishing village to a hotspot in the south of Sri Lanka. And that at a rapid pace. There are many new and good restaurants, parties on the beach or in rooftop bars. The quiet time is over. For travellers seeking peace and quiet, the inland of Ahangama is more suitable. But here, too, there is a tendency towards more posh hotels with DJs in the evening and overpriced food and coffee - unfortunately.

Ahangama is a totally calm and peaceful and crowed less seashore metropolis with majestic palm trees all round it. there is no sound apart from the waves hitting the shore and swaying of the timber making it ideal for a chilled holiday.
A small city in Southern Province, Ahangama is a mystery treasure in Sri Lanka. recognized for its pristine beaches, glowing waters, and picturesque landscapes, this town is indeed one of the maximum beautiful ones in the united states. although it isn't completely developed, it's far effortlessly available thru Galle, a first-rate metropolis that lies only 20 minutes from Ahangama. This metropolis, being the epitome of serenity, is certainly one of the right getaways within the country.
Ahangama overlooks the cultured Weligama Bay, that is a occurring place within the town. The famous tuk-tuk takes passengers from the primary city to the Bay. Weligama is the significant surfing spot, browsing being one of the predominant points of interest of Ahangama. apart from browsing, Wellingama offers beachside stores, restaurants, shacks, and bars.

Ahangama was epic!
Ahangama was epic! We stayed at a spot called Tharanga surf villa. Seriously great location on a great beach that has waves for all skill levels of surfers. You can hire a board or get a lesson through the hotel even if you like. The breakfasts are incredible and give you a taste of local cuisine. The room is comfortable and all you need - the aircon is a big plus! When the power goes out in the area they have a generator so that’s cool. The people who own and run it are so friendly and helpful. Try hire a scooter to get around to all the different beaches if you’re staying for a while. There are loads of places to eat - try the local places they’re cheaper and their food is super tasty! We ate at a variety of local places and got Kotu and curry. Don’t go to the western owned places and pay triple the price! Try a little spot on the beach just past Open Heart cafe (which also has a great view at sunset) I don’t know the name unfortunately.

Ahangama is a busy town within 30 minutes drive to Galle, Galle Fort or Unawatuna to the North, and to Midigama, Weligama and Marissa to the South.
So many restaurants/bars within and close to Ahangama, often with live music.
Tuk tuks are cheap and taxis easily available for longer drives.
One of the best stays we have ever had! Our room was beyond perfect - the shower and outdoor bath were to die for, and the views were exceptional. The food was amazing (especially the breakfast!) and all the staff made sure our stay was perfect - I can’t even single anyone out because they were all so lovely. Location was also great - in a quiet area but with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants right next door. I really can’t fault anything and can’t recommend this hotel more :)
Trebartha East the Roundhouse was one of the best place we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka. The hotel is in the most stunning location and the tranquility of 4 bedrooms made it feel very exclusive. All the staff were brilliant and so kind, we felt very looked after. One thing I must highlight is the food it was outstanding, we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel and all were delicious. I’d highly recommend anyone visiting Sri Lanka to stay here, you won’t be disappointed!

The Insight resort was a great location to spend 5 days in Ahangama, the location is great with the hotel actially being beach front with a nice beach, great pool. The staff were very friendly and soo helpful, they looked after our little toddler like he was their own, giving him such a great time, and us a bit of a break. The breakfast was delicious and varied. Wifi was a bit poor, but an easy fix if they get a fiber connection.

The pool is maintained everyday and super refreshing! Excellent location only a short walk to town and the beach but the rooms and location are peaceful and nice to relax. This place is the one of the best in Ahangama with its location, host and definitely the breakfast. The breakfast I had here was the best I had in all Sri Lanka. The room was very comfortable and clean. The place is just 1 minute walk to the Kabalana beach. Ara the owner is the best host and he make u feel at friend’s home. I definitely recommend this place and will definitely stay again

Beautiful design hotel located right outside Ahangama. All rooms are facing directly to the beach. Everything is super well organised and the staff is great. The food is amazing and completely home made. You can also have traditional sri lankan food. No wish goes unheeded. The best hotel we have stayed in during our trip.

The perfect place to end our holiday in Sri Lanka. Location is perfect, within really pretty roads of ahangama yet very close to restaurants etc. The whole property is decorated in such a lovely way it was the nicest place we stayed across our whole trip - have already recommended to lots of friends. very cute family fun hotel with a big outdoor area where you can chill in the sun. you can easily start a walk on the beach from there and different restaurants are close by. everybody was really friendly. the room was comfy with a nice balcony and big shower in the bathroom.

Perfectly tranquil in middle of cinnamon plantation, the architecture is fabulous. Food is delicious, reminds me of high end Africa lodges. Really stunning all around.
Amazing yard with beautiful big clean pool. The house is uniquely designed with charming spots. Breakfast was great and Aslam and team were very nice and welcoming. Beds are comfortable with nice sheets and a real blanket which we didn’t have in other hotels.

Easy location right behind Ahangama train station. Basic accommodation. Good wifi. Wall fan kept it cool. If you just need a place to crash and you’re not fussy it does the trick. Hosts were lovely and accommodating.
