(1) Its location - it is located right in the middle of west district (seo-gu) of Gwangju city where there are streets of cafe, pubs, restaurants and convenience shops at every corner. There are some shopping malls within walking distance. There seems to be endless supply of food into late nights.
(2) The rooms are big, especially the suite (50m2), with very comfortable bed, working amenities, strong water pressure and bidet. Housekeeping was good too. Ample parking at its 3 basement car parks and free parking for hotel guests.

The room was spacious. Refill of coffee and water on a daily basis. Bathroom was also cleaned daily.
The owner was very generous and allowed me to use their washing machine. I was really appreciative of this kindness! The other front desk assistants were also friendly and helpful.
The location was excellent as it was a 10 minute walk to Sangmu train station (exits 5 and 6). Many interesting and mostly affordable restaurants and bars in the vicinity.

I stayed in Gwangju for a week primarily to do an event with the world famous Koran Randonneur Cycling Club. A 600k Gwangju-Busan-Gwangju. The ride started near City Hotel which is also located near the bike paths along the river. While in Gwangju I visited the very excellent Gwangju Museum of Art and the Cemetery. Gwangju seems like a very livable city with (at least) two universities and a vibrant industrial, commercial sector.

Gwangju publicises itself as an arts and culture centre. It has a fantastic national museum and an interesting modern art museum. A Famous K-pop star BTS J Hope) comes from there and there is a cool area with cool shops and restaurants.
I would have stayed a couple more days to see some more things but my accommodation wasn't to my liking and I moved on.
If you like history, culture and art you will find things to do and see in Gwangju.

Being the cultural and economic hub of the southeastern part of Korea, Gwangju is worth visiting if you're interested in this country. Also, Gwangju is the best place in Korea that hosts and preserves historical heritages regarding the military/dictatorial government in the last century. You're strongly recommended to visit the former Jeonnam provincial office and Jeon Il Building to witness the history of brave Korean people.

I stayed for two days and I think it was suitable for my needs.
Make sure to go to Sajik Park and to the observatory there, sunset up there was so beautiful! Also there's a café so you can get a take-away coffee to the observatory deck and enjoy it there (or in the café if you prefer that, there are large windows with great views too). When you go in the evening, there are light installations in the park and reflected to the tower.
Make sure to know basic Korean when you go to Gwangju or have a good translator since not everyone speaks English. I speak a bit of Korean so it was okay.
T-Money card works well here and it's easy to get from the airport to the city by subway.
If you are BTS ARMY like me, be sure to check out J-hope art in the Penguin Village and Gwangju Kpop Street!

Gwangju is a city of culture, arts and history.
Gwangju is a city of culture, arts and history. The people are kind and the food is great as well. Head to Yangrim-dong if you want a plenitude of cafes full of aesthetic. If you’re looking for places to eat, Dongmyeong-dong is where you should be. And Asia Culture Center is great to chill even after the sunset. The best part is that everything listed above is very close to each other. I visited Gwangju about 6 times and I can’t wait for the next. I love this city!

The lady who owns this guesthouse is very kind and caring. She has a great place: cosy and neat. I could use the kitchen, and she makes sure I had everything I needed during my stay. The bedroom was very comfortable and a lots of cosmetic products and equipment were at disposal.
I could leave my luggage at the optician's shop after my check out because my flight was in the evening.
A very good place that I recommend a 100% and would definitely come back on my next visit to Gwangju.
The Hotel was very easy to get to, close to a lot of amenities. The staff were very friendly and welcoming upon my arrival, greeting me by name and helping to bring my luggage to the room and explaining everything I needed to know. The room was amazing! very clean and spacious with everything I could ever need. I could have happily stayed in the room and never left during my entire stay in Gwangju!
Hotel is awesome! Located in the central tourist spot (not the geographical city center, thought the central part of all the places that tourists usually visit in Gwangju). There are a lot of restaurants and attractions nearby. Transportation is good as well.
Hotel itself is fully renovated, rooms are in good condition, clean and spacious. Personal speaks English well.
I liked everything. I fell for Gwangju. The property is in a great area to explore the city easily.
If you like bars i highly recommend „tequilaz“
