Very comfortable room with everything you need and more. Very good breakfast. The staff at the reception desk was a bit underwhelming but I guess that is connected with the lack of English skills.

Nice town , lots of Cafes, some restaurants , people were nice and helpful, gets busy on weekends with families and couples mostly. I would recommend renting a car to have the freedom to explore the area.

Jungang Market is pretty good. Lots of food everywhere.
Jungang Market is pretty good. Lots of food everywhere. Catch the SeaTrain to Samcheok and back for a day out. Get a T-money card and just jump on a local bus and go for a trip around town or somewhere way out in the country for a few $. Been to Gangneung 3 times before so there must be something interesting to see here.

Beautiful beaches and a surprisingly pleasant/interesting experience at the Arte Museum and the Heo Gyun Heo Nanseolheon Memorial Park. The museum was very engaging in its multimedia displays and the memorial park was a nice quiet spot to have a morning walk.
Chodang Sundubu Village was nice too with many sundubu stew options along with other fun sundubu dishes like sundubu coffee and sundubu ice cream.
Anmok Beach is another area to check out with its many cafes along the beach although it's a little more touristy. I personally preferred Gyeongpo Beach which was larger and with many more dining options nearby.
Gangneung Jungang Market wasn't as fun as the Tourist & Fishery Market in neighbouring city Sokcho though it's large enough to have a walk through. The stores close fairly early so if you're visiting it, make sure to get there by 5pm to get fair time to walk through the market.

Must play their fire crackers in the evening, it is fun.
Oh, along the beach there is a Mega Coffee Cafe which makes nice Tiramisu Coffee. It is a must try.

A really nice beach resort with plenty to do for a couple of days. The beach and water are gorgeous. Wide white sand beach for as far as the eye can see and clear, clean water. The lake behind is also a nice place to stroll and hire a bike. There are plenty of coffee shops and convenience stores located along the beach front with a wide selection of Korean restaurants and sushi bars.
The only thing missing from this resort, and seemingly all the resorts along the East Coast, is any type of night life. There are no bars to speak of and the night life is really just sitting on the beach and drinking and picnicking. The restaurants are good but are limited to Korean and mainly raw fish. This is a wonderful place to see how the Koreans choose to spend their leisure time but it is not like a western resort would be in such a beautiful place. Some of its simple charm really.
The location was the main feature for me. I was in Gangneung for the New Year's Day sunrise and I could see it from my window in my room. The check in was very easy, the room was cozy and warm, the facilities were clean. There was a strong food smell in the dining area but I was never really inside of it (just passing by). I did not eat breakfast at the hotel as I was already out before sunrise to see the sunrise. But everyone was very kind to me. I was certainly the only non-Korean person in the hotel and they were all kind to me.
The staff was friendly, they were kind to explain the Covid regulations that were being enforced in the city. In addition, they hold up to our luggage until the company we hired to store our suitcase by the KTX. It was so convenient since he had a late train to catch. The location was also ideal near all the bars and restaurants. The beds were so comfortable, we had a really good night's rest. They had all the basic necessities and the room was super clean. They really take care of their facilities.
The view was amazing. I liked the sea view all day long. Especially the beach was so clean and near that we can have a short walk around it anytime. The pool was great plus with the view from up to see the sea. The room was spacious enough and well organized. The most great thing is the eletronic pad where we can order and check out freely without going to the lobby and just out the room key in a key box at the parking basement.
The property was clean, a short walk to the beach and very close to several convenience stores. The property was also very beautifully decorated outside with flowers and fairy lights. It was clear that the owners took pride in the property and they themselves were very friendly — they offered us free drinks and food and were generally very kind when giving advice regarding taxis and getting to the beach.
This hotel deserves its average rating above 8. In the off season, the town was quiet. The ocean front room was large, clean, and adequately equipped. The room’s simplicity reminded me a bit of a Japanese ryokan, attaining a certain elegance through minimalism. The ocean view from our balcony was spectacular.
The guest house itself is very nice but what really made my stay really cool was the bar on the 2nd floor, managed by the owners of the guesthouse. Really nice atmosphere and the owner is absolutely great. If i go back to Gangneung, i won't go anywhere else !
The proximity to the bus and the beach. There are a lot of restaurants in the area and a cozy atmosphere. The owner is nice and helpful as much as he can since he doesn't speak english, but you can manage with a translation app :)
The pension house was amazing and it's walking distance from the beach and the mini city
The food places were not that many but great quality of food and definitely worth traveling to
Location is decent with convenient access to the lake, restaurants and bike rental shops; Gyeonpo Beach is a walkable distance away. Microwave and a big fridge are appreciated.
all essentials were provided, and the room was very clean. All the staff members were friendly, and parking was free for hotel guests. The location was also convenient.
Location was nice - right on the beach, 500 metres from the BTS bus stop. The stuff was friendly. The territory around the hotel is very nice to have a walk around.
Hotel room had a great view of the sea plus a balcony — for me, this is the hotel’s prime selling point. The bed was comfortable. The room was spacious for Korea.
