the retreat in the mountain coupled with the amazing hospitality by the family made us felt like visiting old friends. the Japanese paper making workshop is highly recommended. you buy your own food in town (owner will tell u where to get the best beef and the location of the supermarket), then you can do bbq or hot pot or whatever you fancy. very authentic experience in the mountains. highly recommended

This a very nice place to stay. The house is very clean, in a well-appreciated Japanese traditional style. The view few kilometers away is very impressive. Our host welomed us very warmly, with very good advices. We thank him a lot, and especially for the good trail he gave us around the river, in the mountain. The host (Ono), was extremely hospitable, and was more than happy to tell me about the little town he called home. He was always brimming with suggestions of where to go, and always ready to have a chat. I am also indebted to him for allowing me to borrow a bike from the Guesthouse to explore the magical Shimanto River valley; it is an experience I could not recommend more.

The staff was very helpful, excellent communication. The room was ready and warm as we arrived. The onsen was opened just for us as we were the only guests staying there that night. Beautiful cottage on the riverside.
