The Okhotsk House is very spacious and beautiful. Well located,
in the center of Shari, close to all amenities.
The house is very pleasant to live in.
The Japanese-style room is particularly comfortable and I enjoyed sleeping there.
The bathroom is large and perfect for a relaxing moment.
There is also a nice kitchen, although I didn't use it. (There are some very good restaurants in Shari!)
The heating reinforced the cozy character of the house, while outside you can watch the snow fall. All this in a magnificent setting, because the Shari-Shiretoko region is truly magnificent to discover...
The host, from the real estate agency, is very friendly and responded to all my requests. Thank you for this lovely stay in Shari! I would love to come back soon again.

A holiday detached property in a place like a school ground/ holiday camp. Quiet. The accommodation is very spacious but basic looking. Everything is ok and works. Little communication but there was someone in reception to check in with no problem. Location is good for us to explore 2 places: Shiretoko Peninsula and Lake Kussharo, and much cheaper than places in Shiretoko Peninsula.
Shiretoko Daiichi Hotel features indoor and outdoor natural hot spring baths, a hot tub and 6 dining options. It offers contemporary Japanese-style rooms, a free shuttle service and free Wi-Fi.

This is a wonderful place, well managed and with love. The architecture of the house is modern with traditional Japanese elements. The rooms are comfortable with beautiful views. The dinner and the breakfast is delicious. It is conveniently located to explore splendid Shiretoko and to have a unique taste of Japanese hospitality.

We came to Shari during the early February winter to see the drift ice. We took the Shiretoko airport liner to Abashiri for the boat tour to see drift ice, didnt manage to see it because of the strong wind. After that we sit the same aiport liner straight to our hotel at Kiki. It was a winter wonderland here, you could see a lot of snow. The next day. we signed up for 3 local tours operated by Shinra, and they do not disappoint. In the morning we went for a walk in the snowy forest, and it fell really enchanting and beautiful. In the afternoon, we walked on Drift Ice, it was a really unique experiences. In the evening, we went around to see the seagull and eagle, and the sunset, it was beautiful. At night we have our dinner buffet and onsen at Kiki hotel, it was really enjoyable relaxing. We went back to the airport the next day morning. It was a really memorable trip for me.

This area is where Shiretoko National Park is and definitely worthy of a visit when in Hokkaido. Seafood is abundant so a Kaiseki dinner will include various dishes featuring their local catches including unique fishes, plates of delectable sashimi, and my favorite crab miso soup. The views in autumn are spectacular with colorful foliage and breathtaking ocean vistas. We were happy to see brown bears, eagles, fox, deer, various birds including the elegant Tancho, Japanese red crested crane. This trip exceeded our expectations and was most memorable!

It's one of those edges of civilization with a very special own little ecosystem. Shiretoko national park is a real primeval forest and has a high density of wildlife, including multiple species of majestic birds of prey, as well as brown bears. The landscape is just phenomenal. There are multiple hikes (not for the faint of heart though), but also sightseeing boat trips, and guided tours.
The moment your car pulls up, you are greeted by smiling staff who give 90 degree bows and offer to help with your luggage. You are greeted by a lovely woody scent the moment you enter the place, as well as more staff who greet you. My family absolutely loooved the breakfast buffet! The onsen was also amazing and I went there every night. I also really liked the cute decor and furniture of the hotel lobby; each piece was unique but worked together well. My family really liked Kiki and I was sad to leave.
The staff is super friendly and helpful. We arrived in the morning with the overnight bus from Sapporo and the staff allowed us to check in right then to freshen up. That was extremely considerate. We really appreciate this grand gesture. A male receptionist also helped me make a phone call to speak to my guide in confirming my pickup time and location.
The room itself is spectacular with a great view. It’s spotless and considerably spacious.
Very well located, at walking distance to Godzilla rock, 7 eleven, foot onsen. The Onsen was spaceous enough, clean facilities and you can also go for 500 yen private Onsen. The hotel has microwave, tea and water dispensers, shared bathrooms were clean and not crowded. Room was big, tatami was confortable. They provide yukatas. Breakfast was typical japanese, good one. There is small store inside the hotel to buy ramen and souvenirs.
Staff were really kind!
We were able to reserve the private outdoor bath each night. It was winter so the staff gave us an extra coat and some boots to wear out to the bath.
The food was next level. We stayed two nights and had different menus for all of the meals. Lots of local food too, it felt great to support such a beautiful small town.
We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!
Checking out of this hotel was a sad experience. I stayed for one night only and it was superb. Amazing location and view of the sea, amazing food, and an out of this world private open air hot spring, in a snowy wooden cabin. Staff was extremely nice and helpful, I needed help with a few things and they really went above and beyond. Even included a free ride from the bus station. I want to return here every year.
Dinners and breakfasts are really good.
The hotel is brand new, and wuth very good taste and nice arquitecture.
The hotel has a very convenient bus stop 1min walk away to go to Shiretoko National Park, so you don't have to walk 30' to the Shary Bus Station.
very good outdoor onsen…
wonderful breakfast at very good traditional Japanese style room!
natural view around the hotel
fantastic environment…
Wd like to say thanks to the handsome sir on the counter providing us very good services when we stayed.
A wonderful little hotel in a beautiful location right on the sea. The room was spacious and well equipped, the beds were comfortable. The shared lounge area and kitchen were great. Staff were helpful. Highly recommended.
It was a very comfortable resort hotel with a great view and excellent facilities. The room was huge, with plenty of space for sleeping and relaxing. Breakfast and dinner buffets were good, with a wide variety of choices.
I was really impressed by the size of and private onsen in the room and food selection during breakfast and dinner. For my 16-day Hokkaido trip, I spent the 3 most comfortable and enjoyable days at this hotel.
Amazing food and one of the best hotels in town - good facilities but a very big hotel so some rooms can end up being quite far from the onsen and restaurant
Very clean, modern and well equipped house. Everything worked smoothly. Plenty of space, much bigger than most Japanese hotel rooms!
Very good internet too.
