The Park Front Hotel at Universal Studios Japan, hotel in Osaka

The hotel features private parking, various cafes, restaurants and shops on site, as well as free WiFi access in all areas.

1. The location is superb! It's the closest hotel to the park, you literally just need to walk 5 minutes. After an exhausting day at the park, having a nearby hotel helps! It's also close to a JR train station. 2. The room is huge for 2 pax. 3. I like that they have a water dispenser and a coin operated washing machine on our floor (unsure if they have these on every floor). 4. All staff I spoke to were very welcoming and accommodating. 5. For Muslims, Red Lobster just across the hotel has a Muslim-friendly menu. Please do your own due diligence before deciding to eat there.

FAQs about hotels in Osaka

A Stronghold of Japanese Culture

At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.

However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.

The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.

The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.

The capsule hotel was invented in Osaka, and alongside this type of accommodation, Booking.com also offers luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels and traditional ryokans.

It was easy to get around even walking, it was very safe although I’m not a night owl. As always if you speak just a few words of Japanese people are very helpful but I think they would be anyway. There are lots of food places and markets and small bars don’t be afraid to go in for a coffee or beer. The only downside is that there are a lot of people who smoke even inside coffee shops and bars so that might not suit you

Osaka is a lot of fun, I wished we had more time spent there and less in Arashiyama. unfortunately it was the last leg of our trip when we discover a fun city with lots to do and see. The shopping is amazing, the nightlife Is fun and alive and the food incredible.

This city is just as good as East Asias other big cities (Singapore, Shanghai etc.) but much cheaper and less crowded. As everywhere in Japan the city is safe, clean and organized. Only downside is that the level of English is very poor.

The Osaka Aquarium was for me the best attraction in Osaka, because I love seeing marine creatures. Nara Park and Himeji Castle are also reasons for staying in Osaka, because it's a short day trip to both these places using Osaka as your base.

Osaka on its own has its own attractions which one should do...

Osaka on its own has its own attractions which one should do at leisure, rushing it would be unfair to the experience. We usually ate at food halls or subway restaurants. On a few occasions we also picked up from convenience stores. Food is great all over s long as you are a foodie/gourmet and are open to exploring. It is a good location to visit nearby places like Kyoto, Nara, Kobe and Hiroshima. A day trip by Shinkansen to any of these places is ok. One would need to walk a lot, even within the subway till you reach the platform. Ensure one visits Osaka at the right time of the year because walking in not so comfortable weather would ruin the visit. Our visit was first 2 weeks of November so we did get some good weather but on our way to Hiroshima, heavy rains delayed the trains and our tour got cancelled - but by the time we did reach Hiroshima, the weather had turned and was back to clear skies and sunshine.

Whether it be beautiful parks & gardens, a stunning hilltop castle, stunning temples & shrines, or the bright lights and excitement of its ecclectic shopping and market areas, the city of Osaka has something for everyone and should not be missed.

The position is very good because it's in Namba, but away from the chaos of Dotonbori. We stayed in the room with the futon and it was very comfortable. The bathroom was also a bit bigger than what's usual in Japanese hotels. There's a bar attached to the hotel that offers breakfast, but we haven't tried - it looked yummy. The coin laundry is cheap, they have a scale to weight your luggage and there an "amenities self-service bar" where you pick only the things you actually need, which we really liked.

The location cannot be beat. It’s literally a step away from Dotonbori, and very well connected with the rest of Osaka with Namba Station a few minutes walk away. The room was reasonably large for what I booked, and I especially loved the shower which had a very large space, entirely separate from the toilet, with a bath and stand up shower - a first that I’ve seen in Japan where hotel bathrooms can be a little cramped.
