Lovely welcome and the room was beautiful. Dinner and breakfast were Japanese style and well worth it. They even provided bikes to travel 1km down the road to the onsen after our long day of hiking.

Kaako was the kindest, thoughtfull person you could imagine, proud and eager to talk about her region, and willing to help you with everything you would need, hiking advice, transportation, etc... She is also an amazing cook, I had the best meals of my trip there ! Fully recommended if you love hiking, sightseeing, eating of course, and Koyasan is just 15 minutes by car. What else? The floor in the room has heating ! How great is that?

Keeping in mind that this is a temple, not a hotel, the amenities and services were very good! Our room was spacious, clean and calm. Even if the bathroom was shared, it was kept clean and it wasn’t busy (not shared by many people).
The common areas are small but that’s enough: drinks and seats. There’s also a hot bath for women and men separated.
The food was really good and served at fixed hours. The possibility of participating to activities like meditation or a ceremony in the morning immerses you a bit in the life of monks.
The area is also great: right next to the Okunoin cemetery and a few minutes walk from the village centre.

Breakfast and dinner with extra charges are proposed during the check-in. Both were very good and tasteful.

Amazing experience!!! There is a heater in the room, so even if you are traveling during the cold season, you can sleep in a heated room. Great typical dinner, and excellent location.
