It had a beautiful view, the staff was extremely helpful and made it easy to check in, and held our bags while we went sight seeing while we waited for the check in time. The room itself was amazing, spacious as heck!

This is a first rate ryokan located in the heart of Miyajima. They definitely know how to take care of their guests. We stayed in a western styled room with its own Japanese ofuro (bath) that had a wonderful view. They also have a restaurant the serves outstanding fried oysters and other Japanese cuisine.
On average, 3-star hotels in Miyajima cost $229 per night, and 4-star hotels in Miyajima are $344 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Miyajima can be found for $567 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
The average price per night for a 3-star hotel in Miyajima this weekend is $382 or, for a 4-star hotel, $420. Looking for something even fancier? 5-star hotels in Miyajima for this weekend cost around $418 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
We only stayed one night, but I wish we stayed 2-3.
We only stayed one night, but I wish we stayed 2-3. I left feeling like I only scratched the surface. Beautiful and peaceful place to unwind, especially after visiting the Peace Park Museum in Hiroshima.

It is a magic island where I would spend at least a couple of full days by sleeping in an authentic hotel with futon beds. If you can, i recommend to do the hiking of the main mountain (not difficult at all)

If you are an elderly Japanese teetotaller who likes simple food, an onsen and beautiful views this is the place for you!
If however, you also like your hotel to be multi generational, with a nice bar, good food and a welcoming atmosphere, this is definitely not the hotel for you.

We stayed 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer.
We stayed 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer. We took one whole day climbing the mountain, which was great but time consuming, so we ended up not seeing everything on our list. Keep in mind that the restaurants and bars close by 7 or 8 pm because all of the tourists leave the island around 5:30 pm. You really get to enjoy the beautiful island in peace and quiet in the morning and evening before the boats of tourists arrive. It was our favorite place we visited in Japan!

Miyajima Villa was the perfect escape!
Miyajima Villa was the perfect escape! Friendly, professional staff assisted us to get settled, offering umbrellas for the rain, assistance on getting around the Island, etc. The hotel even offers Onsen clothing and many other amenities for their guests! The hotel is conveniently located just steps from the ferry dock and the main streets to see the Tori Gate or the Itsukushima Shrine, the aquarium, to get to the Ropeway, trinket stores, ice cream stations, and so on. Our ocean room view had 2 oversized very comfy twin beds, a small couch, & desk. Loved the Toto Washlet in the toilet room! The bathtub while small was perfect for soaking after 5 hours of hiking. Lots of soft water and water pressure. The onsen (public bath) was just pure Heaven! :-) Sitting in the enclosed area in back of the hotel is just more of the escape and so worthwhile! :-)
Thankfully there was food available in the hotel (bakery, dinner, breakfast) because ALL food service in town STOPS AT 4:30pm! At least, it did while we were there. Our breakfast with Miyajima Villa was wonderful and very filling whether Japanese or American food.
High caution is advised if you plan to hike from the Ropeway, as we did. Trails are not well marked on all trails. However, the trail to the top of Mt Misen is well worthwhile! Hopefully, you are as fortunate as we were to see the Tori Gate at high & low tides as well as catching it at sunset, which brought out MANY PEOPLE. :-) :-) What a perfectly lovely island to spend some adventure time!

Beautiful island.
Beautiful island. Go early in the morning especialy if you want to climb the mountain. It's a pretty hard track, bu it's beautiful.
In the afthernoon it's to hot.
Lot of tourist in the afternoon and it's hard to have some dinner.
Stay there during the sunset: the shrine is beautiful!
We were so happy that we booked this hotel. It was the perfect place for our first trip to Miyajima. The owner and his cat were very nice and welcoming. We had the traditional style room with a spectacular view over the city. The food was simple but very good (and vegan, which is hard to find on the island). The public spaces were cozy and very clean. When we go to Miyajima next time, we will definitely book here again.
The location is very quiet, even during the day, and you can feel nicely secluded in the woods above the streets. The open-air onsen (hot tub) was small but hot and plenty big for a couple (unless you’re very tall) - during the chilly night it was absolutely delightful. Check-in was easy and the host really playful and sweet. We paid for the Japanese breakfast and it was fabulous, served at the host’s nearby hotel.
The hotel is located just 5 minutes walk from the ferry port and about 10 minutes walk from the temple and shrine.
The dinner and breakfast were a great added experience, even more considering that there's not much to do around the island and everything closes quite early.
The onsen is open until midnight and was great, extremely clean.
The staff were lovely, attentive and very accommodating.
Provided meals were excellent and the food was plentiful.
Futon were comfortable and the room was quite nice.
Across the road from Miyajima Aquarium.
Itsukushima Shrine is very close so it's a great location for accessing the shrine away from peak crowds.
Beautiful hotel on Miyajima Island, 1 minute walk from
the temple and floating Torii gate! Loved my stay here shuttle bus from the ferry was easy, staff were excellent and gave recommendations for sites and food on the island and all the extra touches like a Yukata layed out on the bed to wear around the hotel!
We had a wonderful 2-night stay here. The service from the staff was fantastic and they food they served for dinner and breakfast was delicious. It was a treat for us as Westerners to stay in this ryokan. I would definitely recommend a 2-night stay to experience Miyajima and the best the hotel has to offer.
Our stay at the Miyajima Seaside Hotel was amazing. The family room was spacious, public baths were relaxing, and the food was excellent. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. The service was superb, beginning with the shuttle driver taking our bass to the hotel so that we could explore.
The staffs were very friendly, and the location was excellent. I would recommend it to those who enjoy speaking with the staffs but not really to those who like to be left alone. You can also ask the staffs about where to visit in the island. And the hotel cat Miku was really cute!!!!
Absolutely gorgeous self contained villa. Comfortable bed, good shower, lovely outdoor bath. Well stocked self service bar. Simple check in at the ryokan down the hill - friendly service, a great dinner and a good breakfast. Just lovely. I would love to stay here for a week or more.
Location was perfect for a day trip over to Miyajima island, we left our cases with reception in the morning and they delivered them to the room ready for us when we went back in the evening.
Breakfast was complimentary and there was a good variety of food available.
This apartment was bigger than most hotels on the island. With a full kitchen and private bathroom, this apartment was hands down the best for your money. The Hotel Villa Miyajima was right next door and they have a bar that stays open till 11pm.
Fantastic location, next to the ferry terminal and the main market area. The hotel is right infront of the sea, with a great view. The rooms were basic and spacious just what we needed for a one night stay in Miyajima. Great value for money.
The hotel is conveniently located to explore Miyajima. The staff is very kind and they arranged a private visit at the spa, that was very nice. The breakfast and dinner are very traditional, so we are happy we got to experience that too.
The view on Miyajima island from my room was breathtaking. Very friendly staff and the night cruise was a very pleasant experience. Also, the hotel is conveniently located near the train station and ferry to Miyajima. Highly recommend
I loved the location. This place is right next to the giant tori gate and has an in house bath. Absolutely loved the stay and for a great price. There are deer on the island as you step out of the hotel. WONDERFUL stay.
The best way to experience Japan. We highly recommend the place. Miyajima at night is much better without thousands of turists and the dinner served by the hotel it is a masterpiece of colors and tastes.
