Spacious and comfortable room. It was older than the other hotels I stayed at in Japan, but that played to my advantage because since it wasn't renovated, it wasn't one of those tight and tiny rooms.

we stayed at the Emion Hotel which is in walking distance to many restaurants, onto Gion district. 2 days was not enough time to stay in Kyoto. Kyoto public transportation it is easy to navigate, there are beautifully maintained temples and gardens that truly amaze the visitors.

Gion is the most lovely place I have ever seen.
Gion is the most lovely place I have ever seen. I cannot recommend it enough. The buses are crowded but very efficient. Don’t go to the Imperial Palace in Kyoto- there is nothing there. Do not miss Kikakuji- the Golden Pavillion- it is amazing!

Enjoyed visiting many shrines, Nijo-jo Castle and the Imperial Palace. We booked a tea experience in the Gion district and walk on many older streets and enjoyed it. Transportation was easy to figure out once we acclimated as we stayed there 6 nights. Bus and subway was available. We ate many different places wide variety of food we ate at a particularly good place called Saigon in the Gion district as well as a place called Eggs n More with a Hawaiian theme really cute place and staff.

Kyoto is BIG!
Kyoto is BIG! And you can find anything you want: history, food, culture, shows, night life, nature. Everything very easy to reach and (surprisingly from what I've been told for year) extremely cheap!

There are a lot of temples and gardens to visit.
There are a lot of temples and gardens to visit. We also enjoyed the koto playing experience and a tea ceremony. Not much museums to visit. Public transport is very good. The golden temple kinkaku-ji and kodaiji temples are over rated, there are much nicer temples and gardens to visit. In most places u cannot take photos, in museums or inside temples or other buildings. Sometimes at the ticket desk they say photos ok, and once you are inside, someone will come over shouting no photos no photos, it is really frustrating. Or you can only take photos of few selective items. E.g. a wooden statue with no face, hands or legs, while there are several other sculptures in the museums.

Love Kyoto.
Love Kyoto. Lot less crowded than Tokyo and very pretty. 3-4 days exploring Kyoto is ideal. Come when the cherry blossoms are in bloom.
Don’t miss the Bamboo Forest and the beautiful temples and shrines. Consider an E bike tour to see the sites.
Love Love Kyoto. Will be back someday hopefully soon!
we stayed for my birthday in this amazing place , the best experience we ever had in an “hotel” better than 5 stars hotels . Completely equipped, amazingly clean and the best quality everywhere around the house . Shin and Shohei were amazing with us , gave us loads of recommendations and help us in everything, what a lovely people . Dinner and breakfast was absolutely gorgeous and authentic Japanese food , we were speechless .
The garden was a magical space , that we enjoyed very much .
Very good surprise with the séquence Hotel.
It is a moderne boutique-hotel, with quite spacious rooms, very clean and new onsen and sauna (not too crowded) and great location close to the station and in walking distance from multiple temples. 15-30 min wal from Gion area.
The personnel was very helpful and the restaurant (we only had diner once) serving wagyu burgers good quality.
Actually it was the best 4star value for money hotel for our trip in Japan.
Perfectly located in the heart and soul of Kyoto, Gion is one of the city's best-preserved historic areas and a great place for experiencing traditional Kyoto. The staff at Gion Ryokan Q-Beh is freindly. The place is clean, light cooking at the kitchen is allowed, coin operated laundry is also available at the hotel.
Property is close to the station, gion, and pontocho. The hotel staff is accommodating for english travellers. Basic amenities including multipurpose cream and bath salt are provided. Best thing I can say is their free daily sake. Makes it worth the stay!
Staff are very friendly, they always try their best to solve all my problems. Location is good, near bus and underground stations. I will stay in this hotel next time when I travel to Kyoto again.
