I couldn't resist to go back to Okinawa and return at Okuma's resort before leaving Japan. I had the opportunity to have the morning buffet this time and there was so many types of food I could only test only a quarter of everything. Now I'll be doing a diet so I can test everything next time. :)

It's an old style hotel located close to the Yanbaru national park in leafy surrounds, a secluded atmosphere, far from the maddening crowds. The nearest scenic attraction is Cape Hedo the most northerly point of the island. Staff were good, the rooms were okay, but no room service, labeled bins are outside in the corridors for you to dispose of any rubbish, dinners had to be preordered, one choice, breakfast Japanese style only was tasty. There are vending machines on the ground floor where the laundry is situated which has beer, and non alcoholic drinks as well as a variety of chips, biscuits etc.

A very quiet and homely pension located in a lovely area with great views. We stayed in the main guest building which has 3 very spacious tatami rooms, a large kitchen and shared bathrooms, and a large verandah. It's pleasantly low-key shabby and unpretentious. The cabins look a little more modern. If you want a quiet place in the forest and don't need anything fancy, a great value option.

The exterior doesn't give any hints of the lavish house that it was complete with tasteful furnishing, excellent kitchen, living room and big TV with speakers. It can fit a large group quite easily though we were just 3 of us. The michi no eki was walkable and had combini, restaurants and shops in it. We were able to go to the park a few times to have great views of the endemic wildlife, including the famed kuina! We could rent bicycles (there was one at the property as well) and ride to the waterfall entrance and hiked from there. There's a spa on the ground floor of the property which serves based on prior appointments.

The accommodation is located at a hilltop which provides beautiful views, overlooking fields with Kouri Island visible on a clear day. The unit is well furnished and very well thought out and provides good personal space for the family. There is also a comfortable study room for personal reading or some work on the computer. The children loved both the attic as well as interacting with the resident goats. It is also easy to get supplies as the local market is right near the foothill leading to the accommodation.

For a small peaceful coastal town there a some great little izakaya and other restaurants, and it's proximity to Yanbaru national park make it a great base for exploring the north of Okinawa. Watching the sunset on the beach is a special moment of peace.

Rent car is the best option to travel in Okinawa. you can enjoy the view of route 58 while driving along the ocean and it is very convenient to have a car. Cape Hedo is a must visit place in Kunigami. The views are great and also the weather. If you have time, I would recommend to stay near the beach area and enjoy the beach. the water is so nice and clear you can have a fish swimming next to you.
This hotel was a stopover for us. We stayed a night. For our short stay I will say that the architecture was unique due to it's Vietnamese influence. The room was large with a lot of storage, had a nice size tub, and was a short drive away from Cape Hedo.
We had the breakfast and it was a standard Japanese style breakfast, still very tasty.
The staff were very friendly and even though they were taking a break, they worked hard to find the tree where the Yanbaru kuina sleeping. We are really glad we chose this hotel.

A beautiful, impeccably kept, vintage hotel in an outstanding location. The large room with en-suite bathroom and comfortable bed came with a balcony overlooking the jungle. The included breakfast is traditionally Japanese.
it’s old hotel however it was pretty clean. There is nothing else around the hotel that I like about . you feel in the forest. I recommend include the dinner and the breakfast , the dinner was actually really good.
The hotel was surrounded by forest so one can hear birds all morning, day and evening then at night the birds plus amphibians are symphonic. Very nice beaches to walk sling or snorkel. Local restaurants were great!
Very friendly staff. Wonderful nature hikes close by – we were able to spot many of the Okinawa endemic species along the trails. Please drive carefully to protect the Okinawa rail!
Great hotel for birdwatchers. The location is quite remote and you need a car to explore the whole area which is very beautiful. Good Japanese breakfast.
