Keeping in mind that this is a temple, not a hotel, the amenities and services were very good! Our room was spacious, clean and calm. Even if the bathroom was shared, it was kept clean and it wasn’t busy (not shared by many people). The common areas are small but that’s enough: drinks and seats. There’s also a hot bath for women and men separated. The food was really good and served at fixed hours. The possibility of participating to activities like meditation or a ceremony in the morning immerses you a bit in the life of monks. The area is also great: right next to the Okunoin cemetery and a few minutes walk from the village centre.
