The was conveniently located near attractions - just a short walk of 10-15 mins away. The room was clean, and the staff was generally okay. A decent place for exploring the area.

The desk was 24hours and despite some difficulties in speaking English the person there really did do his best to try and help me with something I needed to get done, and was very friendly about it even at midnight. After that I was given a room all to myself even though I booked a bunk bed in a dorm style room, and the facilities were excellent.
Next what happened was amazing in terms of service. There was an issue with the request I made when I arrived so the hotel went out of their way in a BIG BIG way to help me sort out the predicament I was in. I've stayed at a bunch of hotels and havn't experienced such level of service. It was very memorable and I would be sure to stay the property again given the chance.
Thank you all again so much Hotel Coedoya!

I stayed four nights in Kawagoe due to family working and living there. With that said, I am glad I did so because it is a nice town with lots of things to see and do. I am a walker and runner and getting around town was safe both night and day. There is shopping and great restaurants. Old Kawagoe is about a 20-30 minute walk from the hotel and well worth spending at least an entire day there. The hotel is located at the Kawagoe Train Station with nearly continuous trains back and forth to Tokyo (about 45 to 60 minutes each way).

the cars are allowed to pass through the most important traditional tourist area. It is disturbing for the tourists to walk and enjoy freely in that Kurazukuri area. No peace for easy promenade in that ares for the tourists and visitors.
Cars have to be permitted to be there.

Kawagoe has koedo, the ancient town which very lively during the first week in new year. Some people wearing beautiful kimono and go to shrine. The weather was cold and sometimes get windy. The the air was fresh and crisp though. Stores..yeah so many stores here. Restaurant too. We could spent the day stroling crea street, sit at the crea park and continue walking and easily choose to eat and drink. But for muslims cannot find many halal food here compare to big city like tokyo or asakusa

The Edo period street is nice for just walking around. We met some really nice locals and little kids who were really shy to strike up a conversation with us in English. However, they tried their best to approach us. Made us feel the friendliness of the town.

Super cute town with old town vibe.
Super cute town with old town vibe. Although very touristy, you could still feel transported back to the Edo period. Known for sweet potatoes, you could get ice cream, fresh chips, crackers, steamed buns, sweets, and who knows what else. Really cute stores, a fun festival museum, and a soy sauce factory with tours and cheap sake tastings.
