This review is a long time coming. I want to share with the whole world how amazing this hotel is I’m not exaggerating we were treated like a VIP and a good friend. That combination of treatment is only seen in the finest properties worldwide and we received it here in Kanazawa. We stayed in a world famous ryokan the following night, and while that was also superb. The service at this much larger hotel left us with high expectations.
Even if we weren’t upgraded to a high floor view room, the rooms themselves are immaculately clean, plush, quiet, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed.
Concierge made great recommendations. Take advantage of the skybar lounge. Beautiful piano music and precision-made classic cocktails.
All this right across from the station. You could easily stay here a month (if there was that much to do in Kanazawa.)
Congrats Hotel Nikko Team domo arigato gozaimasssssu! 🙏

The hotel was great. Location was the best, it was right in the middle of almost all the sights we wanted to visit, all within walking distance. The rooms were larger than we expected and accomodated two people with two medium sized luggages perfectly. The view from our room was also amazing, able to see a beautiful sunset. Food at breakfast was also really nice, while limited variety, still tasted amazing.

Kanazawa was brilliant, especially after Kyoto.
Kanazawa was brilliant, especially after Kyoto. While Kyoto was crowded and set-up to process lots and lots of people, here it was so different. The cherry blossom festival in the park was full of people, but it wasn't heaving, like so much of Kyoto, and it was mostly Japanese people. There's so much to see and do here! People were super friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The castle area is beautiful, especially at night. The various Chaya areas were pleasant too. We rented kimonos and went for a rickshaw tour around Kanazawa, which was a highlight of the whole trip.

We spent 4 days in Kanazawa.
We spent 4 days in Kanazawa.
Taking time to enjoy beautiful parks during cherry blossoms.
Parks looked like from the postcard, presenting top level of Japanese garden art. Including windy paths, streams, small bridges, bonzai trees. Elaborated to every detail.
City walls impressed me, and at well preserved samurai district we could find out how the life looked like 300-400 years ago.
If I will have more time, I will spend couple days more here.

If you love to go to traditional food markets, this is the hotel to book. You just have to cross the street to go to the market and you can practically eat all your meals there and the price is so reasonable. Caveat here, if you eat at the stalls, you will have to eat standing up in front of the stall but it is great that you can move from stall to stall to taste different foods. However, there are also restaurants inside.

Kanazawa is a great place to visit and to have as a central point to head out to other places. From Kanazawa we went out to Kurobe Gorge which is such beautiful country side. Hotel Intergate staff we excellent. Pretty much anything you needed, they would tend to. If going back to Kanazawa, I would stay here again.

I travelled into Kanazawa on the Thunderbird Express train.
I travelled into Kanazawa on the Thunderbird Express train. The station is modern and attractive and a short walk from all the main attractions. There is the Omicho market, geisha and samurai districts, a 400 year old castle and a modern art museum. Places to eat were plentiful and catered for all tastes. The two main attractions for me were walks along the river which flows through the town and the stunning Kenrokuen gardens.
Everywhere was within easy walking distance and the people were so friendly and welcoming. My lack of Japanese was never a problem.
Very good location, a short drive from the main train station and within walking distance to the major sites (10 mn to the castle, 15 mn to Kenrokuen and 21 Museum, 5 mn to the market) .
The Mitsui Garden Hotels rooms are very cleverly organized to offer everything plus confort in limited space, this Kanazawa one is no exception.
The Japanese breakfast was excellent, with products locally sourced. The view on a small garden was a bonus, and the very Japanese decoration in all public spaces, a mix of traditional with a modern twist.
Absolutely magnificent !!
11/10 !! Beautiful accommodation, clean, the best amenities we have had in Japan (open air Onsen on top floor, as well as indoor; sauna; free bikes; balcony on top floor for relaxation and a cute indoor space also).
Amazing cafe where the meals are around 1500 yen - they are delicious and come with a drink of your choice and salad. Very generously sized meals - really great food !
Best value hotel in Kanazawa !!
We loved The Square Hotel !!
This was the best hotel we stayed at while traveling in Japan. Such a great value.
11 am check-out time. How many hotels still do that? Comfortable room. You can enjoy a complimentary drink and unlimited coffee, nice bath and face products.
You are very close to Kanazawa station and Omicho market. We didn't have to use the loop bus, all of the sightseeing are basically within a walking distance.
Beautiful and authentic rooms, very aesthetic and great to experience more of an Onsen style hotel. The amenities were fantastic - would definitely recommend including breakfast in your stay, the buffet style options were fantastic and delicious. It's walking distance to everywhere you would want to go around Kanazawa and was a great base to come and go from too.
The room was very spacious and the conditions were immaculate. My wife and I both agreed that the shower and bathtub were the best bathing experiences ever. Even better than trips to Sonoma spa resorts back home in California. The two bedroom set up was perfect for our family with two college age kids with us. I’d go back to Kanazawa just for this hotel room.
This hotel’s staff are so professional and their English is very good. We loved the comfortable pajamas, bed, linens, and dishes in the room. The free drinks in the fridge, the coffee, and all of the amenities were very much appreciated. The location is central to everything in Kanazawa. The breakfast buffet selections were top notch! Something for everyone!
Cozy room, very clean, located into a brand new hotel. The room has got all the facilities you may need like coffe machine, water kettle etc etc. Near the train station and all the amenities of Kanazawa. Super kind and gentle staff. Japanese style breakfast that we loved. Little cadeaux offered to the guests <3. Highly recommend! Love from Italy
The breakfast was delicious. A Japanese buffet breakfast was provided and there was a range of foods to please everyone. I really enjoyed using the onsen after a day of sightseeing. It was very clean and very relaxing. The location of the hotel was great, within walking distance of the major sites in Kanazawa, as well as restaurants and shops.
I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. During our three weeks in Japan this was by far the most spacious and beautifully designed hotel we stayed in. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, the bar served delicious sake and noodles on an evening. The room - wow. Definitely stay here if you are visiting Kanazawa!
The hotel is located about 5 to 10mins walk to Kanazawa Train Station. Very convenient and accessible. We were staying at level 24th, had a very nice view facing the train station. The room is clean and well equipped with amenities. The room is consider spacious. Love the hotel decoration, feel like in Europe.
The location is superb, inside Kanazawa station. The entrance is on east exit, beside 7 eleven; very2 convenience. Hotel's essentials i.e: coffee, tea, toiletries, etc provided in the lobby for us to grab. The room size is quite decent compared other Japanese franchise. Very clean and comfortable!
Great value, large rooms and very modern hotel. It was close to most attractions in Kanazawa. Also plenty of food options close by. Train station is about 1.5 klms away but a bus will take you right to the front door from the station. One of the best value hotels we have stayed at in Japan
Comfortable hotel, varied and delicious food, friendly staff and very helpful in looking after our belongings when we couldn't return to the hotel due to the Japanese earthquake on January 1 2024, close to Kanazawa train station, just a 5 minute walk. our family loves this hotel.
The location was amazing and fact that was coffie bar downstairs was amazing.
Room was quite big for Japan standard in hotels, and the prize also very attractive.
If i will be next time in Kanazawa for sure I will choose that hotel for accommodation.
This is the best hotel I stayed in Japan in my entire 10 day trip. The hotel is nee, clean. The room is spacious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It closes to many attraction. I will stay here again if I visit Kanazawa in the future
