Location was perfect to stay in Toscolano Maderno. Immense garden outside the room with two relaxing swimming pool. The place is quiet and in 2/3 minutes away from the main street with restaurants and bars.

The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. For example, although we arrived on a Wednesday when the restaurant is officially closed, the proprietor nevertheless prepared us a tasty pasta meal. At breakfast an omelet was offered as well as a pretty comprehensive continental breakfast.
The market (Thursdays) and the Museo della Carta (photos) are well worth visiting.

Like many of the towns and villages around Lake Garda, Toscolano Maderno has old sites and buildings as well as new. The old town is picturesque but in the summer a major attraction is obviously the lakeside beach with camping sites. (We visited in April during a cool but sunny spell.)
It is a good base for visiting other towns on the lake due to its location and ferry connections.

It´s a nice town, with some lovely beaches and in a beautiful setting. It is also a good location to explore the area since it´s easy to drive to e.g. Verona or even Venice or Milan, and there are lots of beautiful spots to visit around the lake - I especially recommend a visit to Limone sul Garda, with the Limonaia museum and a wonderful medieval "centro storico" and to Simione, but there are also some beautiful trails to walk, hike or drive in the area and not too long a drive up to the Dolomites. Toscolano-Maderno is basically a tourist town during the season, but make sure to visit the churches there, especially the gorgeous Chiesa parrocchiale dei Santi Pietro e Paolo, which looks unassuming from the outside but is absolutely gorgeous once you enter. If you like nature walks, the Valle delle Cartiere is lovely (right above T-M).

I am not a neutral person to judge Maderno. I am visiting this place since I am a child and feel so much love for this little Village, that my view is blinded by pink color clouds :-) I wished this could be my home when I am retired.

Wonderful locaction on the lake, which we used as a base to travel to different towns each day. Car and passenger ferries both stop at Toscolano Moderno, making it really accessible for those without their own car. A lovely selection of lakeside restaurants here too, serving some delicious food.

I really recommend to take a walk from the main road to the papermillmuseum. After visiting the museum, don't forget to continue the walk uphill to see more of the history of paper making in toscalano

Owned and run by two women who really make you feel welcome. I had messed up the date on our reservation and they realized it immediately and accommodated the change. There is an in-house restaurant and bar service that is exceptional! The food is delicious and served on the veranda in the back of the hotel, surrounded by greenery.
Everything is within walking distance, the lake is 2 minutes away and there is a long boardwalk, not sure how long it actually is because after 2 hours walking I was exhausted :D
The interior is fantastic. I don't know why the other reviews are calling for a refurbishment!! Surely you booked it based on photos too??
Anyway, I loved it.. was a time warp but in a great way. The morning sun blasts into tue bedrooms (once the curtains are open) and into the breakfast room. Lots of options s for breakfast, the lake is underneath the hotel pretty much, so you can nip for a dip easy!!

The hotel is pretty old, but clean and fresh. Check in was simple, check out also, all people on check in and check out spoke on German, was a plus for us. Swimming pool was clean and there is a bubbling pool as well, you can switch it on with the buttons. The breakfast was ok, nothing special.
The hotel is not so far away from the center of Maderno, beaches are like 10-15 minutes away.
We staying at Ennesima Osteria con Alloggio - Bike Hotel for a night, and the location is perfect, only 5 minutes walking from the city center. There is a private parking and it was very usefully for us as we had the motor bike. With the room card you can come back at any time without bother the staff. the room is clean and confortable for one night stay.
First of all the view is amazing! The rooms of the hotel are next to the golf and to wake up with such a great view in the morning is so beautiful. The breakfast was really good and the rooms and hotel are pieces of art. The hotel has parking in a beautiful garden. The staff was very helpful. I truly recommend.
The room was very big with a large shared terrace. It was comfortable and clean. Towels were changed every day. It had tea making facilities. The bed was comfortable. The hotel was just a short walk to a nearby bakery and close to the port. We very much enjoyed our stay- perfect for a short stay in Garda.
Very good value for money. Private parking at no extra charge. Tasty breakfast, but mostly sweet like in most hotels in this region. A very nice couple runs the entire hotel and really does a great job. The garden is great to relax in the evening with a glass of wine and local olives.
The hotel is on the perfect location, small hotel beach is great for kids and not crowded. Breakfast was nice, room and balcony were completely fine for out 5 days stay. All facilities are clean and nice.

We had a very pleasant stay with very kind hosts, who met all our expectations. The hotel has a nostalgic touch with its robust, old style furniture and a lot of space. The garden is wonderful and the quirky dogs and free chickens make you smile.

Excellent staff. Anything required is made available. For older people maybe beds a bit more solid, that don't move and a softer mattrass. Overall an excellent hotel.
