After Ferry arrival, we arrived at the Mare Rostrum Hotel by a transfer taxi.
Mare Rostrum was like a paradise location in Pozzallo after Malta.
Taken to the Hotel to be met by Enrico Caruso, the owner & his wife.
It was an easy check-in with a lift to the room.
Clean & efficient & sterile, although small for 2 sharing.
Substantial, delicious breakfast with cooked eggs & fresh baked goods. Just, Yumm.
Enrico went over & above to make us feel welcome & helped with transport to Catania.
I will never forget his & his wife's hospitality. cannoli, coffee & introduction to Antica Risetta of Siciliana.
I would definitely stay at the Mare Rostrum Hotel again xx

The location was very convenient for the bus to Catania and very close to the seaside restaurants. The host was very welcoming and charming, she explained everything we needed to know, took care of us and gave us great tips for where to find the best pizza in town. We really enjoyed the room even if it was just for one night. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom clean and spacious, the shutters to the windows closed perfectly making the room dark and quiet so we had a wonderful night.
A 2-minute walk from the closest beach, Europa 41 features light-coloured and modern apartments with a balcony and air conditioning. Free parking is available here.

A quaint seaside town - very clean and with great food both to buy and cook or dine out. The town center is vibrant and has a really good feel. We stumbled across Pozzallo taking the ferry across to Malta - what a gem !

Pozzallo is the closest Sicilian port to the island of Malta. It is an obvious place to break one's journey from Malta by sea, by spending at least one night in Pozzallo and continuing on one's travels the next day (or days).
Pozzallo is a good place to relax and enjoy the beaches (in summer) and long walks (in winter).

Pozzallo is great as a stepping stone, to rest a bit and move on. We've always found the locals to be very friendly, and the food good.
The beaches are nice, and fantastic for the children, but apart from that there isn't much to do.

Pozzallo is a beautiful little beach town at the southern tip of Sicily. The beach water is clear and beautiful! Many people don't speak English there, so make sure to bring your translator app. I would also recommend a trip to the best gelato place in town, L'Artigianale. They have a huge selection of amazing flavors, and so cheap!
Lovely staff accommodating early check-in, breakfast with homemade cakes and nice service, cleaners very attentive and contacting us when we forgot something back at the hotel. The room was small but clean, quiet and relatively fresher. Only few minutes walking from a stunning sandy beach equipped with free showers.
It is a fantastically nice and friendly hotel. While this was last year, we traveled through all of Italy in only five star hotels, some of them at 10x the price of this one. And still, this was the most enjoyable one. So we came back this year and it did not disappoint.
Angelo, our host was fantastically helpful, humourless and accommodating. He definitely makes you feel at home.
Also the location near the port (a 10 minute walk) was really convenient as we were taking a Ferry to Malta.
