The location was within walking distance to the train station and sightseeing. The front desk staff was very helpful as we arrived before the room was ready. WE were able to leave our bags while we did some sightseeing and when we returned, our bags had been delivered to the room.

Absolutely beautiful boutique hotel. Refurbished in 2023, this hotel is immaculate. The staff is incredibly professional and attentive. The room we stayed in had a beautiful view of the Messina Straights and the port entrance. Plenty of restaurants close by, including one right next door.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, they provided us with all the information to get the most of the city. The room was very comfortable and well equipped. Having breakfast served at the second floor with a beautiful view of the city is a plus. The property is in a great location at walking distance from the historic center of Messina.

Unaware that ferry arrival at almost midnight was at a cargo terminal, miles from anywhere, no taxis but helped by kind crew member. Nervous as solo traveller but most accommodating receptionist guided me by phone into stay. Tramline on waterfront easy access to station.
Only stopping point to Palermo - can’t judge attractions.

Messina is a pretty city in a beautiful spot that is off the radar for most travelers.
The cathedral, rebuilt after the 1908 earthquake, is beautiful, with Byzantine mosaics in the apses that miraculously survived. The clock tower mechanical clock is spectacular even though it only operates once a day.
The regional museum is full of treasures that were salvaged from churches destroyed in the earthquake. The highlights are two Caravaggios and an Antonello da Messina triptych.
Interestingly, Messina appears not to promote itself. The tourist office seemed to always be closed. I ended up asking in shops what sights to see, how to get to them on busses, and for restaurant recommendations. Locals were very glad to help me with that information.

The town is Ok for a day & night.
The town is Ok for a day & night. The cathedral at 12pm is the biggest thing in town and it is worth a look for the curious. Note all the bars around the square have a surcharge just to sit down - which they don't advertise. Try the Sri Lankan restaurants around town, delicious food at a great price.

we only stayed 3 nights, the area we stayed was very busy not far from ferry crossings. We visited Taormina and Cefalu, 2 nearby cities. Didn't get to see much of Messina itself. Did visit beach which was very nice.

Messina doesn't have a lot of attractions - the Camponile was interesting to see at midday, as well as the Norman cathedral, for which you could really see the Mudejar influence - something I found surprising for Italy.
OTOH, it also means there were fewer tourists about, which suited us to a tee.
If you are into hiking, it looks like the mountains above the city would have some nice trails with views out over both the Ionian and Tyrrhenian seas.
The place was truly amazing, the best part was the shower because it is so big and modern, the bed was great, there was a huge TV for relaxing a little bit. Messina was mich cleaner than Palermo and Catania, I really recommend it for a relaxation destination, the best were Torre di Faro with gorgous beaches and the main church where you can see a spectacular show every day at 12:00. The owner was great, he gave us advice where to eat well, see things and he had some cuddly cats which we just adored. This place is purrfect for cat lovers.
We stayed 1 night while train traveling the coast of Sicily and transfer to The mainland. This was steps away from the train station, very convenient. The room was new and very nice, communication from Sergio was very thorough to enter the building and the building was very safe. Breakfast was served in a little breakfast room and good choices. We had a good night before traveling on. We walked the area a bit in search of dinner and came upon a good sidewalk bar/ cafe in the closest square and other food choices.
very nice appartment. everything technically 100 % and very clean, 3 well functionjng airco’s, nice terrace with spectacular view over street of Messina en all its shipping. from sailboats to ferries and from bulk carriers to cruiseships.
ferries dock really close, so,lots of actvity, but also the noise that comes with that. at night quet.
about 10 minutes walk to the old centre.
for beach you need about 10 minutes by car.
we enjoyed it and owner is helpful.
Fantastic location, right on the sea front of the Straits of Messina. Great private garden and two cabin like rooms in a secure area, with access to a private beach. The kitchen area was outdoors in the garden and had wonderful views of the sea whilst having a morning coffee and watching the ships sail by. The hosts were very friendly, welcoming and hospitable. Restaurants and shops were a short walk away.
This is the nicest B&B in which we have stayed here in Sicily. It is modern (opened in 2022), comfortable, beautifully located overlooking the Straits of Messina from the spacious breakfast room and balcony, spotlessly clean and perfectly maintained. Eva (owner and designer) is welcoming, very helpful, and gracious. You cannot go wrong in selecting FuoriSquadra B&B!
Not a conventional hotel, 360Me palace is a set of suites in a floor of an otherwise uninteresting building. But it was surprisingly attractive inside. Out two-room suite was huge, and very nicely and artfully appointed. "Palace" is an appropriate name, reasonably descriptive of the lavish furnishing of our room. A short walk from the cathedral.
Super cute decorated, nice balconies, comfortable beds, kitchen and apartment with all needed for a couple of days, private parking. Hosts were very nice and accommodating. Also good closets. Location is not center of Messina but we didn't need that and everything is near anyway.
Thanks again Denise and husband!
Several breakfast items were provided - e.g., lots of fresh yogurts - and the coffee was quite good. The location was opposite one of Messina's ferry terminals, which I was hoping to use to visit Italy, the toe of the boot. My son and I were within walking distance of many other interesting activities.
Absolutely beautiful boutique hotel. Refurbished in 2023, this hotel is immaculate. The staff is incredibly professional and attentive. The room we stayed in had a beautiful view of the Messina Straights and the port entrance. Plenty of restaurants close by, including one right next door.
The hotel is a short walk from the port of Messina and also the transfer to Catania airport. It is also in the centre of Messina so you can walk anywhere fairly easily. The rooms are a decent size and clean and all the the staff were friendly.
Francisco is a fabulous host, very personable, friendly and helpful. There are only two rooms, so it feels like you are staying with family. Great value in an awesome location, close enough to Messina, but out in the country by the sea.
Really convenient, in the center of Messina, near the historic center and near the motorway junction. Clean and with all comforts. The owner is kind and helpful. I recommend it to everybody. How to find yourself at home.
The property was very close to Central station and the port. Inside very new rooms with modern decor. Wonderful staff nothing was a trouble. I’d definitely stay here again if I came to Italy. Rosalind
A nice boutique hotel, situated conveniently in a nice area and with a short walk to the tram. Rooms were very comfortable, great beds, good bathroom. And the staff was very helpful.
A very friendly and helpful staff, easy parking, great breakfast, and good location make this hotel a pleasing choice for Messina! We'd stay here again.
