We had a wonderful time and the Hotel really made us feel welcomed. We didn't intend to book a hotel with no wifi but it turned out to make the 3 days we spent that much more special as we explored the area. There is wifi in the restaurants in town and Susa has great signage to get to all the wonderful ruins. The mountains are all around you and the French Alp towns are very close for a day trip.
Set on the shores of Lake Grande in the small village of Moncenisio, Chalet Sul Lago Hotel In Montagna offers a sun terrace with tables and chairs and a restaurant with wood-beamed ceilings.

A good place to overnight on the way to the Frejus tunnel. The staff are friendly and helpful and we enjoyed a drink on the comfortable sofas in the reception bar. The rooms are clean and plain but comfortable - we’re not sure that boutique hotel really captures what’s on offer here.
Susa is historically interesting and we recommend a pastry and drink from the amazing little bar down the road. We wouldn’t particularly recommend the evening meal, which we found disappointing and clearly reheated (although not adequately) according to our orders which had to be messaged by midday. Breakfast, however, was very good - generous and with tasty local fare. A great place for an overnight stay.
Featuring free WiFi throughout, Hotel Susa & Stazione offers warm hospitality and comfortable accommodation since 1906, when it was an inn for the few travellers on the way to France.

Friendly welcome from the owner who speaks excellent English, shamefully my Italian is so poor. Good location for town and nice secure parking for the Vespa.

Chiomonte is a small and very nice village in Susa Valley.
Chiomonte is a small and very nice village in Susa Valley. It has a stone paved central road with some "tunneled" roads departing, servicing the houses not on the main road. The cars can enter but, while there ins no parking inside, basically all of them stop in some outside parking lots and people, mostly, enter the village walking, so it is very quiet. The nicest thing are the several fountains (I counted 7) and the lodge.
In the center, there is also a very good restaurant, Al Cantoun, with also some bedrooms available. Wine and local food shops.

It's a small tiny village on the mountains from where you can access different ski resorts. It's quiet and with a sort of romantic feeling coming from the fact that is really small. In spring/summertime is super green and nice area to go hiking and biking. I found the place really special and perfect for a detox from the city ad everyday busy life.
