A perfect spot to stop on our drive from Sicily through to Puglia. Excellent parking and warmly welcomed with coffee and tea. Some very good restaurants in the town (although many closed on a Monday night) and the castle on the beach adds interest. Historic villages such as Rocca Imperiale are nearby and well worth visiting. Lovely breakfast and great host. Highly recommend.
The town is lovely. The hotel is nice, and I got a good price off season. The staff was friendly, and had a nice conversation using our phones to translate!
NB: based on the location of the hotel, I expected stunning views of the sea; instead, once you arrive you will find there is a rather building in front that blocks your view. No matter, you can walk down the street for views on the way into town for a delicious pizza. I’d go back in a minute.
It is a fantastic apartment very close to the beach. The landlord Andrew and his wife are very hospitable. They gave us a lot of information about the town, restaurants and things to do nearby.
We got fresh fruits from his garden.
Our time was amazing!
About Amendolara, I would describe it as a wonderful NOT crowded village with a very clean beach. The prices in restaurants are very fair and the locals are very nice and helpful.
