The staff was absolutely fantastic and the food was even better than expected. Incredible value for the money.
The amazing location of Hotel Skaftafell provides guests with stunning views of Iceland's highest mountain, Hvannadalshnjukur and the largest glacier in Europe, Vatnajökull.

Meals are very generous and the staff were happy to let us share a main course. It was more than enough for two. Walking to the start of the glacier was great. Very close to the start.
The Potato Storage is offering accommodation in Svínafell, with free WiFi and free private parking. All guest rooms in the motel are fitted with a kettle.

Lovely owner who met us on arrival. The apartment was set in a beautiful location and was very convenient for visiting the Skaftafell area. The apartment was very tastefully designed and was spotlessly clean. The equipment provided was excellent and you could tell that a lot of thought had gone into it. We especially loved the peace and quiet. Would highly recommend a stay here.
The service was very good. The reception and dining staff were amazing. Super friendly.
Dinner had good options and was delicious. Breakfast is fairly standard inclusive continental.
Location was 100/10 far more scenic than I expected. Right underneath a mountain and only a 15 min drive from guided tour meeting points and glaciers

Hof, like many places in Iceland, is not really a town but a cluster of houses at the base of a mountain; there are no restaurants or services other than the hotel. It is a convenient place to stay when visiting Skaftafell National Park.

Adventure Hotel Hof is a comfortable, clean, modest hotel. Staff and friendly and helpful, and the meals are good. Adventure Hotel Hof is well suited for the budget conscious traveller. The setting is beautiful, but the town of Hof is very very small. Blink, and you’ll miss it!

Hof seemed to be a small city, perfectly located if you are renting a car to see the area, we came from Vik, and we drove all over the Jökulsárlón and returned on the evening to the hotel. as every village in Iceland, you need to pay attention to the exit, but google map was able to find it and we didn't have any problems. We booked the 2 double room, assuming we needed to share the bathroom, little did we know that the two rooms are part of a cottage and it was like a big 2 bedroom house rather than 2 double room. Breakfast was amazing, and I suppose in aurora season, you can look up and see the northern like, but even if there is no season, waking up to the nature was mind blowing. it was perfect for us, 4 friends who did the ring road in 9 days!
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous villa. The pictures do not do it justice. The villa has just such a wonderful vibe. Location, location, location. The views are spectacular. The architecture of the villa is amazing. Wall to wall, floor to ceiling windows. Super clean. Villa was comfortable and warm. Fully equipped kitchen and two bathrooms. Washer and dryer available. Comfortable beds. Dining table was huge. Hot Tub! Convenient location between sites in south Iceland. Great communication with host. We were a family of 6.
The Adventure Hotel Hof is a great value for solo travelers. My room was small but totally adequate, very clean and modern, with a nice private bathroom. I didn't get to use the dining area due to covid, but it looked quite nice (and the packed breakfast was a suitable alternative). I didn't stay long enough to see what other facilities they had, but it was a pleasant experience overall and I'd have no trouble staying again!
We have stayed at Litla-hof before, but it has been many years. The cabin has been renovated to include heated flooring in the shower bathroom, which was a huge hit with our family! Clean, comfortable, and easy to cook and grill, we cooked our own breakfasts and dinners and ate together at the dining table. Our family enjoyed the peaceful farm setting and petting the horses was a bonus! Highly recommend.
The staff was super friendly and amazing. We booked last minute since we were on the move around the whole Iceland. We were able to get a room with a great view and a private bathroom. We booked dinner that night and the food was out of this world. We enjoyed the Icelandic food and look forward to the future. The breakfast had a large variety and was great :)
Hotel very close to glacier lagoon. Easy check in, everything worked perfect, internet and electricity was available all the time despite the storm that kept us locked up for 2 1/2 days in the property as all roads on southeast were closed. Solrún arranged extra accomodations and meals during storm, she took great care of every guest. Thanks.
This is a truly unique way to experience the beauty of Iceland and specifically the Fjallsarlon lagoon. Our guide took us on a private tour of the lagoon on our way to the Aurora Hut. We celebrated our wedding anniversary with champagne and a spectacular view.
the hotel is basic and simple. but the location is amazing, makes it well worth it. the restaurant on site has small selection but nevertheless caters for everyone - vegans, fish eaters and meat eaters. for traveling around Iceland it’s a great stop
Location was convenient but private, up on the hill with a view. Great hot tub. Wonderful decor, appliances, furniture. Roomy. Very responsive host. If we ever come back to the south of Iceland I would go out of my way to stay here again.
Easily accessible from main road, not far away from attractions. quite nice surroundings, it wasn’t crowded either. Overall good value for money, but nothing special compared to other properties where I stayed in Iceland.
The hotel is situated in a great location for a night stop on Iceland's south coast.
The breakfast was very good and the parking was easily accessible and right next to our room.
Close to the glacier lake, very nice and affordable hotel, especially in an area with limited choice
Nice breakfast
Very pretty old church with turf roof within walking distance
Great hotel. Breathtaking views. Clean and cozy room. Nice and friendly staff. You don't need anything more during the road trip. Ah, breakfast - all perfect.
