I had been to Mangalore to attend a Rotary District Conference and the venue, Indiana Convention Center was excellent.
I felt cheated at Goldfinch Hotel as the room they gave me was far below the size that I had envisaged. To make things worse, the man at the reception bluntly told me that breakfast was not included. I noticed later that there was no photos displaying the classification of rooms with different rates and about whether breakfast was included or not.

A city I always loved form my working there back in 2010-2011. Unique city like Vizag where one can enjoy beaches and just travel ~ 100+ kms to reach hilly areas and enjoy hill station experiences, temples and churches to watch... Can engage in sea water sports if interested... And food - NO WORDS can describe the cuisisne at Mangalore - from breakfast at udipi restaurant opp City Center Mall or seafood from innumerous restaurants, special ice cream at Ideal....

It's too hot for people like me from places like Coorg. And the stuffs are sold at higher prices, including food, Hotel bookings, etc. The weather is so horrific during the mid day, u can't even bare to stand outside in the sun for even 5 minutes

It is my home town and so I love it! It has over the years become really crowded, the city area but there are so many positive things to note. The people are really warm, kind and helpful. EVen the auto drivers are polite and wait if u ask them, they don't scream at you for extra or haggle or say no to destinations. The weather is hot and humid in the day time but cool and lovely in the nights. Lots of eateries. Everything is so close by, Private buses are public transport here and they run on time and are great to get around wherever u want. Lots of churches and temples to visit. Awesome place overall.

Mangalore is clean, green and the people are very helpful and friendly. The auto rickshaw drivers go as per the meters. There are bus services at very reasonable fares and one can travel in a very convenient manner to the outskirts if you are by yourself and if you do not wish to spend too much on taxis, etc. It is a smart city.
I loved everything about the place.. the location, the vicinity, the facilities , the comfort and warmth that's been provided to me by the lovely couple Sash and Shaz.. one of the nicest people , I came across in my life.. I wish them good luck. My best wishes to Sash and Shaz to keep on hosting... They are wonderful host.. I strongly recommend people to stay there ...It's worth spending your money there... I thank booking.com for giving me the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful place and to be with Sash and Shaz..

Thanks to the Lobo family for the great experience. Never experienced hosts so kind and helpful before. The place is surrounded by nature and even some peacocks walked by. Perfect place to relaxe and escape the noise of the city. Still its not far from the city or beach, bus and tuktuks available close by. Breakfast was changing every morning and also offered some coconut water. They helped wherever they could. On top of that the place is clean and wifi is running good. Best decision to come here and even extent my stay :)
I stayed at the Horizon for four nights and everything went smoothly. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and worked hard to maintain good living conditions for the guests. The location was along a well travelled street, but I never noticed any excessive noise in my room. The room was very nice with a comfortable bed. During my stay, I had no problems with the wifi and I was able to use it frequently without interruptions. I would definitely not hesitate to book here again should I return to Mangalore.
- The location couldn't be better - it was right next to the central railway station in Mangalore.
- The staff were very courteous.
- The checkin and checkout processes were very quick.
- I could easily book a cab to the airport through the reception despite heavy, incessant rains.
- The breakfast was really good - many options, good spread between veg and nonveg, tasty and healthy.
- The wifi was superb - very high speed, and ideal to get work done or to watch netflix.
We generally rate this property high because of the staff as they were understanding and allowed us to use extra space in the hotel to have our online classes. Thank you for that! :)
The room itself is basic, very good location, towels and soap provided! We didn't stay for night as we only had to have a place with wifi to teach online, we paid the full amount when leaving at 5pm. The price could be lower for the actual room but generally a nice experience, thanks!
Room service is at point and the best part of the hotel is the food it serves a bit costly but fills your hear and your soul to the brim.would suggest to add a few bathrobes to the room as there are none.other than all that it was a great experience would be my choice for the next visit for sure.
There was a lot of variety to choose from for the breakfast (e.g. Western food as well as Indian food). Staff were very attentive. Facilities were excellent including the gym and spa. We also enjoyed the entertainment (singers) provided by the hotel on one of the nights of our stay.
The hotel is within walking distance of malls and restaurants & is well maintained. The team at the reception were polite and agreed to our request for a late checkout. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a good variety of south Indian options.

Location was awesome just outside the public area around 2km from town. Eatery around the hotel was awesome. Awesome place to stay. Its new hotel so canteen facility not available but its nearby around 1km.
