Gangtok is and was always my favorite destination.
Gangtok is and was always my favorite destination. Apart from rainy season one can visit there anytime. Not only it's own natural beauty and cleanliness, being the state capital Gangtok is having transportation access to every corner of the state. So, being stationed there one can visit a vast range of area of North Sikkim, East Sikkim and South Sikkim at the same time go directly to pelling, versay, Ravangla etc of west Sikkim or Darjeeling, kalingpong etc of west bengal. This is the 7th time ihave visited Gangtok, be it in summer time of April/may or spring time of October- November or cold winter months of December end- March middle. Every time it's mesmerizing beauty amazes me. For the adventure lovers also Gangtok and adjoining places is just a gold mine... be it trekking, mountain biking, zip lines, paragliding, rafting in teesta or rangit or rock climbing. I would suggest everyone to visit this place atleast twice. One in summer and another time in cold winter.

There are only a handful of options for sightseeing in Gangtok, so it's best to book a short 2 days trip if you're planning on staying only in Gangtok. The town mall is the best part in Gangtok. Beautiful vibrant atmosphere, and amazing nightlife! There are some very good spots located in various parts of Sikkim which are absolutely worth your time, especially North Sikkim and East Sikkim.

gangtok is a great place to start your sikkim exploration. nathu la pass shouldnt be missed. gangtok is a great place to start your trip into north Sikkim.
be sure to work with a good travel agent because most remote places in Sikkim need permits, even for Indian residents.

Wonderful city with breathtaking views! M G Marg is a delight for people who love to get some shopping done at affordable prices. M G Marg is also a foodie's paradise! Lots of different restaurants offering different cuisines.
The ropeway was a very good experience, we got to see the city from a bird's point of view! Namgyal Institute of Tibetology is worth a visit to understand about Tibetan and Buddhist culture.
The journey to and from Tsomgo lake, Nathu La pass, and Baba Harbhajan temple is filled with great scenery including waterfalls, snow-capped mountains, winding roads with hairpin bends, and a great view of Kangchenjunga!
Overall, a wonderful trip worth every penny!
We stayed in this place for 4 nights during our Sikkim visit and it's a very good and budget friendly place for a family.
The staff is extremely courteous and well mannered. They are always ready to help. The rooms are the best part. We stayed in the Tripple Delux Room and they are huge compared to other hotels in the same price.
Also if you are Bengali, you will feel right at home because all the staff here are Bengali. The food is quite good too.
Would definitely recommend this one.
Vajra Taxi stand for North Sikkim and Vajra Mall was just 2-3 mins walk from hotel. You get shared taxi in Rs. 2,600 per head, local taxi tour Rs.700 per head for gangtok and shared taxi to MG Road was Rs. 30 per head
Prayasna restaurant is just 1 min walk from hotel for homely vegetarian food. The owner were friendly and customized food as per our ask.
Beautiful part was Terrace which was accessible 24/7. It's safe and secured. We were 3 girls and staff was very helpful and polite.
I had such a lovely time at Mellow Fellow, I stayed for over a week. The staff, especially Sandi and Annie, are great people who really made the stay special. They are fun, friendly, and have a wealth of knowledge about Sikkim. The facilities are also very comfortable, with clean rooms and a vibey common area. Of course, the location is also perfect for exploring MG Marg with dozens of restaurants nearby. Mellow fellow should be your only choice when visiting Gangtok.
Superb Hospitality. The owner Abhimanyu was really accomodating, helpful and resourceful as well. Everyone at the Hotel were really helpful and went out of their way to make sure that we had a great stay.

The rooms were spacious and clean. Outside view from rooms was excellent. Staff were helpful and responsive. My son fell ill and vomitted after our trip to Nathula. He was promptly served plain dal and boiled vegetables as requested. The hotel staff arranged pickup from Siliguri, sightseeing, transfer to Darjeeling and also onward transfer from Darjeeling to New Jalpaiguri. I loved the hospitality and room was well cleaned. Moreover the quality of food that was offered at the hotel was way too good. Rama the manager was so so coperative and humble. A big yes from my side and I should highly recommend people to have a stay at this hotel bcz it's not just a hotel but a place like home. I will definitely choose Great Eastern Valley Residency if I ever get a chance to visit gangtok again for sure.
Overall excellent. Fooding and lodging both were excellent. Manager and all members were very helpful and good in behaviour. The expense is same as staying in m.g.marg. the amount you pay in hotel in m.g.marg that same amount goes for the transport here. The food quality and room's cleanliness is far much better than that of m.g.marg. the food price and room price is also reasonable. One of the best hotel in gangtok.
The location is very good. It has an option of taking breakfast & dinner but we didn't take that opportunity. The room, washroom, furniture all are neat & clean. Just 2 minutes walking distance of MG Marg from the room. SNT is almost 8-10 minutes walking distance, available restaurants are there.
Overall great experience. If I go at Gangtok in future I will like to book this hotel again.
The hospitality at this place amazed me the most! They welcomed us like family and made us feel at home for the three days we stayed! The breakfast they provided was also great! We were really sad to live <3 There was jamming and dancing sessions everynight and it was a vibe alltogether! I recommend this place to anyone planning to visit Sikkim. Worth every penny.

I stayed with my family for 5 nights and Hotel Owner Manish made our stay very comfortable. Staff were helpful and the breakfast is very delicious. Manish helped us in arranging the sight seeing tours and we had wonderful time in Gangtok. Location is perfect and all the restaurants are in walkable distance.
Cleanliness and decency of the staff. Manager of the hotel karma is a wonderful human being. I fell unwel one day and he arranged everything for me to get checked at a hospital. I have rarely come across such good people managing hotels.
