I like the attention to detail, such as the fridge in the common area, water bottle available, and the tea and coffee in our room. It’s a peaceful place, and the view over Valentia Island is beautiful. The jacuzzi is a very nice addition, and the host was lovely.

Paula met us on arrival and gave us tips and recommendations for our stay in Portmagee. She recommended a great restaurant and where to eat the following day. The apartment was perfect for us, it was close to the Skellig boat trip docks. The was plenty of parking and we also used her outdoor jacuzzi and her sauna.
The apartment had a well stocked kitchen, ideal for staying with a family.

Great little room (upstairs), very modern and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in.
Lounge area with some comfy seats and a TV.
Very nice large shower, continental breakfast provided.
Welcomed by the owner on arrival who explained things about the room.
Located a few hundred yards outside the village centre it's easy walkable back into the village for the pubs/restaurants.
10/10 from us.

Perfect place for visiting Skellig michael
House was so clean we met the owner briefly she was so nice. There's lots of cooking staples in the cupboards amd milk in the fridge my daughter was delighted with the chocolate bars. There was even a lovely loaf of brown bread left for us. The photos are the view from upstairs bedroom.

The location was terrific. A very easy 5 minute drive down to Portmagee, so it made a great base for Skellig Michael. The accommodation though on the small side was clean, and the bed very comfortable. The Kerry Cliffs next door really were spectacular, so it was a great bonus to have a pass to visit them.

We were so happy to have found this place. The apartment has everything you could think of needing and in a stunning location. We brought our dog and it was a dream dog friendly accommodation. We were even able to bring our dog to the kerry cliffs with our free passes. Dying to return here again!

The property is brand new with all the mod cons you’d expect . The hosts were amazing Kieran and Caroline couldn’t do enough for us. And I would highly recommend visiting them if in the area. In fact I intend to rebook myself
I loved Port Magee. I did a landing tour on Skellig Michael. It was the high light of my 2 week Ireland trip. Port Magee is a nice little harbor town with friendly helpful people. Don't stay at Stonechat. We had no hot water and no linen on any of the beds. We had no help from management til the 3rd day. We left 2 days early.

Plenty of activity, trails, scenic views, restaurants, music at certain times and places. A good base for The Ring Of Kerry. Romantic get aways. By night it’s romantically beautiful by day it’s romantically fascinating

Fabulous quiet cottage with original features and a view to die for. The sunsets were incredible. Unfortunately the name has been changed and no one in the area knows the new name so it took ages to find it. The new owners need to put a name on the gate.

A small fishing village with beautiful scenery nearby.
A small fishing village with beautiful scenery nearby. Parking could be an issue in hi-season, There are scenic boat trips around the islands and can be booked at the hotel. Off-season is quieter but no live music.

Easy access to tourist options.
Easy access to tourist options. Cliffs of Kerry are on private property on the outskirts of Portmagee and entry cost was 5 Euros per person - good views and a bit of a climb from the car park.
The Skellings chocolate shop was great. You can try many samples of different types of chocolate before buying.
Many people travel to Portmagee for the 45 minute boat trip (one way) and landing on Skellig Michael. Landing is weather dependant - and not guaranteed. Puffins are adorable and plentiful. Guide at top of the steep 600+ steps climb up to the beehive huts was informative. Toilet facilities only at the arrival point to the island.
Brayhead Tower is over the bridge on Valentia Island with fabulous views out to sea towards the Skelligs and cliffs of Kerry. Car park is paid by a 2 Euro coin only. It is a LONG walk to the tower.
Tetrapod trackway is free, difficult to see the tracks but fabulous views. The slate works are close to the Tetrapod trackway but visitor information is limited.
We ate both nights outside at "The Fishermans Bar & restaurant" in Portmagee. Service is good and friendly. They serve fresh fish caught that day and it was delicious.
The smalll supermarket is not well stocked with pre-filled rolls/sandwiches and appears to have limited supplies - suggest you shop at Cahersiveen or Sneem if you are self catering.
The booked room had a wonderful bed and a panorama window with a fantastic view towards Portmagee. The check-in was easy and quick. The location was excellent with: 10 minutes by walking to Portmagee, 5 minutes by car to the Cliffs of Kerry and a beach is also not far away.
The house is perfectly located on the main street of Portmagee with a general store just across the road and restaurants/pubs just a short walk away. There is a lovely fireplace in the kitchen and a spacious bathroom with bath and separate shower.
Everything was perfect. Staff and owners were wonderful. The food was outstanding. Ireland won the rugby and the live music that followed had me up and dancing till 1am.
Would definitely recommend this hotel and will be back.
Cosy cottage offering all amenities (stove & oven, kettle, toaster, microwaves, dishwasher, washing machine), close to Portmagee, Cahersiveen, the Kerry cliffs (10 - 15 min drive). Lisa's greeting gift was a lovely touch!
Great, comfortable and very well appointed house, beautiful kitchen, lovely garden. Fantastic location: Portmagee and Kerry Cliffs in walking distance.
