Oak Tree Lane Country B and B, hotel in Kilmore Quay

Located just 44 km from Hook Lighthouse, Oak Tree Lane Country B and B offers accommodation in Bridgetown with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as private check-in and check-out.

We were travelling for first anniversary and although we arrived early, Geraldine was only too happy to put our bottle in the fridge ! Check in time is strict which is fine because there is plentry to do and see at nearby Kilmore Quay. The room has one double and a single bed and is very spacious but also was very quiet. Tea, coffee, biscottis and importantly, water from their spring is provided. We did not have chance to experience but an outdoor and indoor lounge are open until 9 pm. Beds really comfortable and Geraldine has ironing facilities if needed. You need a car really, although there is a local bus to Waterford from nearby (15 minute walk) Kilmore village. The village has the excellent Mary Barry restaurant, and they offer a free minibus there and back. Geraldine and Patrick offer lovely choice of breakfast, and they had no problem substituting an extra sausage as I do not like tomato in brekkie !! Extra toast offered and you will not go hungry. A highlight was a walk round their beautiful gardens. Parking was available and we found Geraldine and Patrick to be lovely hosts. The one bad thing (and this is not a negative) is that we missed the new hot tub which they hope to open in about a month’s time ! Overall this was a lovely place to stay for a quiet, not too expensive getaway. Kilmore Quay and the wonderful Johnstown Castle both a shortish drive.

Whitford House Hotel, hotel in Kilmore Quay

Whitford House Hotel is a family-run property located 3 miles from Wexford town and 17 minutes’ drive from Rosslare Europort.

We were welcomed so nice. They told us there was no lift but they could call someone to help us with our luggage. The hotel looks very nice and clean. Ours was big enough and clean too. We enjoyed our dinner downstairs at the restaurant/bar. The food was very tasty and the portions were big enough. You can join the swimming pool and spa during your stay. It's nice and clean. There is free parking. Breakfast was so delicious, you can choose what you like and it will be cooked freshly for you plus you can serve yourself from the small buffet too.

The Farmers Kitchen Hotel, hotel in Kilmore Quay

Situated just 4 km from the town centre of Wexford, The Farmers Kitchen Hotel boasts a restaurant and a bar, along with free Wi-Fi and free private parking. Rosslare Europort is 20 minutes’ drive...

The welcome at reception was wonderful. The room spotless and facilities such as tea and coffee great. We were also pleasantly surprised that there were additional towels, fan and blankets available should we need them. The restaurant food both evening and breakfast were great. The bonus at breakfast was a really helpful table service - a rarity these days. All staff were very helpful.-- this is a rare gem and a wonderful find we will definitely stay again and have already recommended to friends and family.

While a great location, i feel that over the years Kilmore Quay has lost the allure it once had. No decent hotels (Wooden House = Accommodation only / Saltees Hotel = Glorified motel and not great but good food). Many places in Kilmore Quay have closed or are simply seasonal and limited serving time. Kehoe's Pub is a saving grace for this community but again, limited opening times and serving of food (always reserve on Sat and Sun). Silver Fox restaurant has been closed years and remains vacant to this day (April 2024), such a loss. Chipper is great but you don't necessarily want that for lunch and dinner! Kilmore Quay has become a pass through stop off for a walk and ice cream but not an over night hotel stay location in my book as the accommodation available is terrible unless you go Air BNB or private holiday rental. Sad to say, we'll be going elsewhere in future for a quick short break - lacking loads but has a great deal to offer for a pass through.

Kilmore Quay is a great fishing village location with stunning picturesque scenery, walks and views. There are a couple of local pubs but it is limited on the evening dinner meal front if you are looking for good quality fresh food - I'd suggest Marry Barry's (who generally provide a courtesy mini bus shuttle from where ever you are locally) Marry Barry's has top notch sea food and other options, simply amazing place, friendly and efficient staff and the shuttle is a great idea. Kilmore Quay is a fab tranquil getaway, not overly built up, not commercialised and an active fishing village that adds to the authenticity of the location. A must for anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and simply relax.

Nice location, good for activities. Lovely walks and swims. Some nice food options. We ate at Mary Barry's in Kilmore and availed of a free shuttle there and back which made everything so easy for our group of 6. Dinner was delicious. Accommodation was great for a group too. We stayed in a apartment that slept 4 and studio that slept 2 .

    Absolutely loved Kilmore Quay.

Absolutely loved Kilmore Quay. We were last there 24 years ago and always meant to go back. The harbour is picturesque with the saltee islands in the distance. There are boat trips out to the islands which we did years ago. The beach is beautiful. There are cute little gift shops and plenty of choice for eating either take away or dining. People are friendly and welcoming. The thatched cottages are so quaint. There are boats for fishing trips. Kehoes pub is great craic and even in promptu sing along with lovely Laura the singing giggling bar maid. Every single one of the bar staff were friendly and welcoming. The sunset we witnessed was beautiful. Anyone should consider themselves lucky to visit such a lovely place.

Lovely village, really relaxing spot - caters well for tourists without feeling ‘touristy’ or overly commercial. Easy to get around, lovely beach and beach yoga, fabulous morning and evening swims at the small beach, lovely coastal walk, enjoyed dinner both in Keogh’s and Wooden House, got delicious ice ream at Lickd, spotted the seal in the harbour and watched some crab fishing, joined a beach yoga class on Sunday morning, such a relaxing time in Kilmore Quay
