Good hostess who came out in her car to take us to the venue.

The beds were comfy, the WI-FI was good and the bar at the Garryvoe Hotel nearby but they were pretty much the only positives.
The place was an apartment not a house and was upstairs with steps down a very ugly set of metal stainless to a dirty bit of Astro turf.
The view was of a static caravan site from the front of the property.
The furniture was a mosh mash of different styles. The dining table and chairs were dirty, chipped table top and only 5 chairs for 6 people.
Poor selection of kitchen utensils for feeding a family.
There were lots of things that had not been maintained eg broken bathroom shelves, loose toilet seat, curtain a hanging off rails.
The place was dirty with stains all over the sofa.
Not sure how they can describe it as luxury. We stayed for a couple of nights at Castlemartyr resort up the road and that was luxury. This was not even average.
Disappointing for the expensive price we paid. Would not stay again or recommend it to anyone else.

Checking out at 10am on a Sunday is not on.
Checking out at 10am on a Sunday is not on. Covid is over & people feel cheated if they pay for a weekend, can’t get in until 4pm friday & have to go 10am Sunday. It’s not two days.
Some frying pans were still dirty from previous users so I don’t believe the cleaning was that deep & careful.

We are a family of 6. This accommodation lovely and clean and spacious.
Location great fota Island, cork city, trabolgan, leahy farm, cobh and ballymaloe within 30 min driving distance. So lots of activities for kids. Beach within 5 Min walk and access to hotel swimming pool nearby at a cost.
Good cooking facilities in accommodation as activities are expensive with 6 people so make use of these but overall no complaints great holiday.

No real amenities in Garryvoe, no shops other than a pancake/icecream place.
Beach is ok, stones and wet sand flats(good for sandcastles), no dunes.
High tide (11-12pm) leaves only a couple of meters of shore to sit. But means swimming is fairly safe for a good stretch as there is no sudden drop. Kids had a ball though. Evening low tide was nice, water was warm. Lots of jellyfish around (July 21)
Mobile coffee and food huts in parking area, very pricey.
Lots of take out options in Castlemartyr, 10 min drive.
