Near the capital and yet a totally different experience.
Near the capital and yet a totally different experience. Wonderful little cafés. Farmers' market on Sundays in a nearby park. Nice beaches! I'd recommend it to all visitors of Dublin as a complementer experience, especially in the summer. Use the Dart to Trinity (Pearse Street stop). Way faster than bus 46a.

Location was excellent.
Location was excellent. It is really easy to get around Dun Laoghaire. There are lovely shops and restaurants in Dun Laoghaire. There is also a theatre and cinema. The walk down the Promenade all the way to the lighthouse is a must visit!! Teddy's icecream is a lovely treat afterwards, classic 99 icecream. The staff in the hotel were welcoming and helpful. Our room was tastefully decorated with all requirements met. Sumptuous breakfast. Beautiful spa and pool for R&R. Lovely lobby area to relax overlooking the sea. Really nice bar. Overall a really good vibe to the hotel.

We used it mainly as base to visit Dublin (it's 20-30 minutes by tram) but spent some time walking down the harbour, it's quite beautiful and you can see people learning sailing. There's some museums and monuments worth visiting (sadly we didn't have enough time), and good places to eat. Make sure you try the fish & chips by the waterside. We were actually there for their local St. Pat's parade and it was such a great time!

Dun laoghaire is a special place to me.
Dun laoghaire is a special place to me. My gran swam almost every day in sandy cove. I've raced ironman 70.3 also from sandy cove. And the pier is always a place of memories as my aunt also lived nearby. I learned to sail in the harbour on visits as a kid. The town has a lively lovely coastal vibe.

Hotels offers a wonderful Breakfast for 15 euros and standard Pub menu for dinner usually with a daily special. The Pub was first rate and has plenty of beverages to select from, I would suggest a pint of Guiness. Parking is adequate although a little tight for larger sedans. The rooms are very well kept and bathrooms are supplied well. Staff is very helpful and friendly. I plan to use this Hotel for future visits to the Dublin area.

It is a beautiful hotel in a lovely area.
It is a beautiful hotel in a lovely area. We had no view, so we couldn't really enjoy it. We were there for such a short time it was wasted on us. The room had a smell like sewer, but the beds were comfortable. The reservations desk seemed a little clueless.
The breakfast was really expensive, so we couldn't eat there and when i got recommendations for restaurants by the water, the reservationist lady only recommended one restaurant, Hardies, which was affiliated with the hotel. It was hard to get into and there were at least two other restaurants we could go to.
Stayed two nights at Claremont House last week. Ideally located near DART and easy access to Dublin city centre. Short walk to beautiful Dun Laoghaire and Sandycove. Daniel, owner of Claremont, has his own restaurant close by called "Daniels" - what a gem! It's small and cozy but the food produced is all fresh and mouthwatering and something you would expect from a Michelin restaurant - can't recommend it highly enough!!
If you want to experience what Ireland once was, book a night in this mini period house. I liked it very much. The room has a character of bygone times. The owners keep everything clean and tidy. With a map I found it without any difficulty. It was only a short 4 minute walk from Glenageary Dart Station. I chose traditional breakfast which was filling and very tasty. I'm grateful for this lovely experience.
Superb location. Close to some of the Dublins most popular swimming spots and walking routes. 20 minutes to the city center by the Dart train. Picturesque views from the windows. Lovely homely atmosphere and very pleasant staff. Definitely book this place if big busy hotels are not your thing and if you love the sea. My family will be returning here on their next trip to Dublin.
Wonderfully friendly staff, comfy hotel and fabulous location with sea views. My favourite hotel in this part of Ireland. Stayed here around 8 times and it has never disappointed. AND it accepts cash unlike many hotels these days. Well done!! I make a point of not staying in hotels that dictate how I pay my bill.
Lovely property in a nice quiet location
Very easy check in and good communication from hosts before regarding location and parking etc
Easy walk to DART to get into Dublin with trains running regularly and close to ferry port too
Spacious comfortable room with en suite bathroom
Extremely clean
Nice breakfast
The room was perfect for the 5 of us enough space, beds very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely loads of everything and great selection. My husband said it was the finest breakfast he has had in a hotel. Easy to travel to. our room was lovely and quiet.
This hotel is my favourite place to stay in Dublin. A mixture of boutique modern glamour and old fashioned Dun Laoghaire genteel Victoriana. The staff cannot do enough for their guests and the food is wonderful. Harbour views make it a dream visit.
The location is a 10! Near shops and restaurants and a few blocks from the DART. Quiet residential street. Great walking area. Older renovated home but fit our needs perfectly. Contactless check in.
The property is in a great location, close to central Dun Laoghaire town, walk to the Dart/train station and the lovely harbour area. Within walking distance of great cafes and restaurants.
The bedroom and bathroom are exceptionally clean and comfortable, the staff on duty are very cordial, location is superb, and parking is easy. Thank you Haddington House, we will be back!
I would highly recommend the Haddington House to my friends and family. Our room was clean and neat well maintained. The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.
The bed was comfortable and the views are great. Unfortunately that was about it. Dun Laoghaire is a lovely little village but in future i'd stay elsewhere
