The space and the setting off the road. It was very homely and there were plenty of basics in the kitchen and fresh milk in the fridge, which was much appreciated. Toiletries were appreciated. Bedding was fresh and clean and beds were comfortable. We recorded 16 birds on our Merlin app which was fantastic. Lovely having an outdoor place to sit in peace after a busy day sightseeing.

Bobs cabin is a lovely little property if you are looking to enjoy nature and have some peace and quiet on your holiday. It’s in a great location, about 10 minutes drive from Oranmore and half an hour from Galway city. It was very clean and tidy with plenty of room for 2 people. It is situated near main roads so it was easy to get to and the hosts were very helpful and kind.
Flannery’s Hotel features spacious rooms with free Wi-Fi, The Galwegian Restaurant and Frankie’s Bar & Bistro. There is free parking on site, and central Galway is 3.6 km away.

Craughwell itself can be reached by bus from Galway city.
Craughwell itself can be reached by bus from Galway city. This bus was not available from the railway station. You need to go elsewhere, but still close to the railway station to get a bus. Tickets may be purchased on the bus. The Craughwell bus stop is opposite the church there and you must tell the driver in advance where you want to alight. The screen inside the bus doesn't show locations.
Craughwell offers nothing currently in 2024 for Solo Travellers without a car, in the evening sadly.

Breakfast, host and location were excellent. Pubs, restaurants and takeaways were within walking distance. There is a petrol station / mini market just a few hundred yards away too - very useful.
