The location on the river and the elegant bar/ restaurant/ reception areas are a real plus. The decoration and racing related memorabilia in the hotel and grounds make for a unique experience. We were made to feel welcome on arrival and offered tea and cake. A member of staff politely guided us to our room and helped us to settle in. Excellent breakfast service. Large rooms with river views. Proximity to areas of scenic beauty. We availed of the offer of free tickets to the Clonmel Racecourse and spent a pleasant at this very scenic racetrack.

Beautiful hosts, magnificent cottage. Shirley & Patrick were so generous and kind to us. We wanted for nothing. Washing machine was easy to operate, beautiful hot showers and a hot cooked breakfast both mornings with freshly squeezed orange juice! The cottage was so spacious and beautifully decorated.
Firstly Clonmel was not in my opinion a tourist town.
Firstly Clonmel was not in my opinion a tourist town. If you need to visit for work, meeting family or just to see a traditional Irish town you will be pleased with the friendliness of the people, the quality of the dining options and the transport network. We went to see where my father was born and were able to retrace his footsteps which was great.. As mentioned the dining options were good and I can single out Sean tierney's bar for a warm welcome, great food and traditional atmosphere.

The stay at the hotel was excellent.
The stay at the hotel was excellent. We were able to travel around the whole area and found the town itself to be very interesting and the people were really friendly. We had dinner and lunches at various places and they were all great value for money. The effects of covid were very noticeable in that a lot of businesses have been forced to close down.

Clonmel is a historic town in Co.
Clonmel is a historic town in Co. Tipperary with portions of the old town walls particularly around the Protestant church, The "Main Guard" was the centre of the town - free opening - and there is another perfectly sized museum also. Lots of wide streets, old shop facades, lovely friendly people, and a fine river.
