Tobervilla Guest House, hotel in Caherdaniel

Featuring a garden and views of mountain, Tobervilla Guest House is a guest house situated in a historic building in Caherdaniel, 34 km from O'Connell Memorial Church.

The young couple who own the B&B have just spent 14 months completely renovating/rebuilding the entire facility. It is now a lovely home, and our pretty sea-view room was very clean and had a super comfortable king-sized bed. The hostess was welcoming and proudly gave us a tour of the home, explaining all of the work they had done to it, which was amazing. The open-air hot tub was a really fun perk, too.

-The House is situated just off "Waterfield Centre", half a mile from the shops the pubs and the bay! Don't be too excited with centre as it is a small town! We were expecting many more people as it was the weekend of WTF, multiples trails in the countryside! Was lovely, very local and friendly! The house is semi detached, big-a bit too big as it is quite empty especially the kitchen! At the end, it is functional but not cozy! Three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a mud room. A small Garden (4x8 m) with three comfy chairs and a wooden table to picnic. Not a lot of privacy but very well appreciated because it was very sunny and the garden is full south so sun from morning to evening! The bedrooms where cute and welcoming. Good Beds though on the short side lengthwise (we are not very large people). THere is a Very good restaurant of fresh pasta and seafood called oh MaryLou, I where you can also do takeaway. The pub "The lobster" was also great for fish and chips and burgers. The location is excellent! Very quiet, night and day. THe bay was very welcome. Beach of sand and peables. THe local authority encourages to pick up 3 pieces of plastic for home recycling to keep the beach nice and clean. I loved it! I did it but did find only small fragments. It works!

    I love Caherdaniel.

I love Caherdaniel. The beaches are amazing and once the sun shines you could be anywhere in the world. Even without the sunshine though the place is fabulous and I can sit and watch the sea for hours. Derrynane beach is great for walks and right at the end of it is a fantastic house in the shape of a boat built into the rock. A fabulous sight to see. And another 10 min drive on the other direction is the lovely historic Staigue Fort

I have so many fond childhood memories of Caherdaniel, it's a beautiful area full of amazing beaches and walks. I try to go back every chance I get. I love going to Daniel O'Connell's house, and walking the grounds. The tour is also worth checking out for any history fans. You really need to have a car to travel around the area, or a bike and a fit body to ride it. We ate at the Blind Piper which was very nice, but there are a number of other places within driving distance.

Derrynane bay house is situated just outside the village of Caherdaniel. It has a lovely view of the bay and surrounding mountains esp from the breakfast room. Lovely people running the B&B also. The beds were comfortable and the breakfasts delicious with a great choice offered. All residents were nicely spaced out in the breakfast room due to Covid regulations.
