Overlooking the Wild Atlantic Way, Stella Maris Shore House provides views of the Wild Atlantic Ocean, Downpatrick Head sea stack and the panoramic countryside of Ballycastle in County Mayo, on the...

The breakfast was first rate, made to order and as they like to say in Ireland "prefect". Rolf had some marmalades on the table and I commented about how good they were. He explained how they came from Annie's Bakery in town and how he procures as much as he can from local supplies and farmers. We stopped at Annie's on our way out of town and purchased three jars of marmalade as well as some yummy pastries. Annie was a lovely lady who was welcoming and a joy to chat with. This is what I loved most about out experiences, meeting people and contributing to their local economy. Upon check-in I had a very unusual request, an 'above and beyond' request and Rolf didn't skip a beat in making sure my request was taken care of. Our room was clean, quite with a lovely window facing the bay. While my wife and I were reading in our room we could here cow's and sheep in the background, really tranquil and nice. This place is special and Rolf makes it extra special. My wife and I wished we had time to spend more days and if ever given the chance we will no doubt come back.

Spacious, lots of character. Had everything 3 cyclists needed. Emily, Frank and Bernie could not have been more helpful. After 8 nights at various b&bs from Ennis to Ballycastle we liked this the most. Got Patrick from Tea by the Sea to deliver great burgers for dinner

I would like to say a few words about this B&B. It is the best B&B I have ever stayed in. Michaela is a very nice smiling host, her house is very beautiful, tidy and smells clean, the Irish breakfast was made from their farm's chickens and duck eggs, plentiful, tasty and perfectly presented, the house is located in a great, quiet place near downpatrick head, in one word, you will find everything you need in this house, I recommend it to everyone 100%, we will definitely come back im.Thanks Michaela 10/10

We didn't realise how close Ballycastle is to the beach.

We didn't realise how close Ballycastle is to the beach. It was great to be able to walk there and back. We enjoyed an evening drink in Healy's bar which serves an excellent pint of Guinness. We ate at Killala Restaurant about 15 minutes from Ballycastle. Staff there are friendly with great food. We especially liked the chocolate tart with ginger ice-cream. Mary's bakery in Ballycastle was open at 9am and we enjoyed freshly baked scones and pastries before going to visit Downpatrick Head.

A lovely quiet village, with a beautiful bakery called Mary’s Bakery. All beautiful goods cooked on the day fresh and home made! Bally castle village is also not far from the breath taking Downpatrick head! A must see no matter sunshine or rain, we were lucky to experience it in both
