We love everything about this place. Jeff came to pick us up in town, and we arrived at his lovely place with an amazing view of the rice fields, where we were offered refreshments on entry. During the evening, we had a traditional Indonesian diner, where all the other guests & our host sat together & spoke to each other. The room and bathrooms were clean, the trekking for the sunrise is really nice, you learn about rice cultivation but also about Indonesian culture. We passed by the school and had a small exchange with the students which we really appreciated. When we came back, we had yummy pancakes for breakfast before resting for a bit. We were feeling at home and would liked to stay more. I highly recommended this place

Very good place to stay in Ruteng and visit around. Located quite central in the city next to good restaurants and The homestay is very clean, rooms are spacious and nices with wooden floors, bathrooms with hot water are appreciated, not always the case in Flores. Mama's Homestay is very welcoming and comfortable. Nina and Faldy are making sure your stay will be excellent. Their staff go out of their way to look after you and are super friendly. We loved breakfast and the dinner we shared with them. Faldy is a great guide and he'll give you a good insight into the Manggarai way of life. Highly recommended.

I‘ve had the best time at Ruteng Hostel. The family is so nice and I felt so welcome there. They made really good breakfast, organized a scooter and gave me some tipps what do to around Ruteng. I enjoyed my trip in Ruteng so much and had a great time there! 😊
