If beach is your trip's prerogative you'd better pass, but...
If beach is your trip's prerogative you'd better pass, but if not, then you're for some fine treat. Located in the picturesque Istria inland, surrounded by olive trees and vineyards, Višnjan offers equal distance to sea and inland landmarks. Matterada beach in Poreč was to our liking. Also Kangera beach near Savudria some 25 km away also fits our ideal beach profile.
Višnjan is quite small but features quite a good eatery like Borgonja where you can try local delicacies. There is a fine distillery near by some 4 km away in Cerjani, called Istarska Kapljica, featuring finest grappa and liqueurs. Don't miss going out to Motovun and Grožnjan especially during the jazz festival there. If you're a bit of a foodie then Astarea or San Roco in Brtonigla or Buščina in the village with the same name must be in your plan. Good wine and olive oil is easy to find, but I'd sincerely recommend Cuj in Faranžine.
Biking is also great. Parenzana trail but also many more are crossing Višnjan.
Nights out and fun ... than Poreč.
First of all,owner Loreta was great.Sooo kind and helpful!She welcomed us with grapes and figs from her garden.Property is located in small village Radovani and is perfectly calm and quiet.It is great place to stay and do daily trips in surroundings...Višnjan,Motovun...Apartment is very clean,spacious,everything is brand new and I would stay there again if I visit area.It is also great and suitable for kids.

Wonderful location in the middle of rural Istria, in a small charming village. Beautifully decorated property and very polite and helpful owners. A cosy flat, perfectly clean, with all needed equipment (and even more). A bottle of good wine was offered to us when we arrived. Nearby, there is the Visnjan Observatory, some wonderful lavanda fields and some wonderful restaurants. We are looking forward to exploring this amazing region again!

Great location in Višnjan, right at the top of the little hill on which the town in located. The hosts were very friendly and easy to talk to despite the language barrier. They were helpful and the space was comfortable, clean, cozy and felt like an authentic living space. All in all, a great place to stay for a few nights. Definitely worth checking out the Višnjan Observatory just down the road!
Perfect villa for family stay. Lot of space 3 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, full size living room with big dining area and fully equipped kirchen. You don’t need anything else. Outside one can find a terrace with concrete grill and another dining table and jacuzzi - we all loved it. Barat is very small and peaceful village, the nearest shop is located in Visnjan 3km away.
Very comfortable villa nearby the nice village of Visnjan. Nice pool and garden. Shops, restaurants, cafe and bakery within walking distance. Sea view. Kind hosts Ozren and Viktorija welcomed us warmly and were available the whole week and thereafter for questions and suggestions. A place to return to!
Location was perfect, in the middle of Višnjan next to church. Parking next to building. Big living room, apartment was big enough for two adults and two children. Host was nice and helpful guy.
