Many vendors cannot understand “no”and follow us everywhere we we go nagging and nagging and very annoying. One followed us to our hotel another followed us to the restaurant.
The market is not all that as Antigua has a market and Guatamala City has central market with equal products and food. I found out they charge more on Thursdays and Sundays because of the tourists.
The local restaurants quality of food is terrible.
We ate at San Juan and Las Brasas
Not worth going to Chichicastenango.

Old Hotel but very well maintained and clean. Huge room . Just in the center near the church and the market. To warm the room you can ask for a fire in the chimney which is in the room. I didn't use it. A lot of blankets in the cupboard just in case. Wifi works well. Old bathroom with a bath and shower. The water is not warm enough to take a bath unfortunately. Breakfast in a pleasant old large dining room. No buffet.
This is the best place to stay in town. It is centrally located and really is a museum of the town. The rooms are filled with antiques from all over the world. The dining rooms convey the past of the country. The bar was just right for a pre-dinner snack and drink. We enjoyed the honest simple breakfast and dinner. The employees are very knowledgeable about the history of the hotel.
The hotel is a former colonial convent and it truly feels like travelling to the past. Decoration is astonishing, old items are very well preserved, and gardens are beautiful. Beds are very comfy, and breakfast was delicious. Staff is super helpful and always keen to help you, they make you feel like they're taking good care of you.
Old school Guatemala tourist hotel. Comfortable and clean but not luxurious. The beds are fine but not great. Location is superb, just one block from the market. I prefer the Hotel Santo Tomás but this is a good choice.
Breakfast is not free but very nice. Miguel is a super nice host and showed me the nicest taqueria in town, 2 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Comfy place, super cute decorations. I felt welcome there.
I was able to check in early before going to the market. The hotel is close to the market. Breakfast was good and the fresh bread was wonderful. Naturally there was fresh Guatemalan coffee and fruit.
This is a beautiful and centrally located hotel with very helpful staff and a good breakfast that was included. Our room was spacious and even included two very comfortable chairs (a rarity).
More like an AirBnB than a hotel but the owner is friendly and helpful. The WiFi worked well and the room was clean and comfortable. Free filtered was available to refill a water bottle.
The historical nature of the hotel is charming. The fireplaces are beautiful and they send someone to light your fire. The furniture is old and homey. Beds were comfortable.
The owner and staff treated us very kindly and helped to arrange transportation to the airport. We felt safe at the hotel and in the neighborhood. Breakfast was adequate.
Restaurant at the hotel is excellent, breakfast was delicious. Rooms are new and beautiful and the park around the property is very peaceful. Nice hotel!
