ILAIRA, hotel in Skala Eresou

Set within 300 metres of Skala Eressos Beach and 24 km of Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest in Skala Eresou, ILAIRA offers accommodation with seating area.

The hotel was located only few steps to the beach and restaurants. The room was very clean and has everything you might need for a short stay. The staff was very helpful with smiling faces. The beach is very beautiful with soft sand, however bring your own equipment, there is no free sunbed/umbrella as usual practice for the rest of the island. It is totally best value for money, worth for price/performance.

Although it was still relatively busy at the time of the trip (Late September) there were places where you could find peace. I recommend walks to the harbour where there is a small church ; into the local countryside and another chapel at the top of a steep hill with magnificent views. A range of really good food available from local , friendly restaurants

The beach was very beautiful however it doesn't offer free sunbeds/umbrellas as usual practice for the rest of the island. There is only one place offering costly sunbeds, so be prepared to bring your own equipment. The restaurants are good, you may have breakfast in Flamingo and have uzo in the place next to it in the evening. Do not go Yellas (the place right in the center, the only one with with wooden tents), the food offered was made us sick unfortunately.

The place and the hotel were amazing.

The place and the hotel were amazing. The only issue is the amount of single use plastic that the hotel is using for drinks in the pool and the beach bar. This needs to stop and hotels need to start considering more plastic free options

Skala Eresou seems little changed from our last visit 15 years ago, still beautiful and small, low-rise buildings, very friendly. Really nice bars and restaurants strung out on boardwalks along the beach, just 50yds from the sea's edge. Favourite places for us to eat were Etoile and Karavogiannos, both had great vegan options for us.

A fantastic beach-side village that has been developed with consideration to the beautiful environment that surrounds it.. Great restaurants and bars (many on stilts by the beach) Highly recommended

Absolutely amazing place this is the 2nd time I have been and I love the festival . Although the Sappho is a nice hotel I think it’s far too expensive for what it is when other places are Just as nice but less than half of what Sappho charge, asked for a sea view didn’t get it , the shower leaked and you had to hold it.. however the staff were lovely can’t fault them
