-We enjoyed our evenings in the spacious and very big central square full of people of all ages in the evenings and full of bars. Everybody can see everybody over big distance. This is only possible because the city has very modern planning.
-We recommend a visit to "To Alsos" (Ζαχαροπλαστείο Το Άλσος). They offer only very fresh sweets (made the same day), cakes, homemade chocolates, coffee, and magnificent ice-cream. Address Ρήγα Εμμανουήλ 2.
-Every morning I did gymnastics in the park opposite To Alsos - it has very old and tall fir trees which make you feel as if in the mountain. In this park is situated the open-air Theater.
-Every Tuesday in Orestiada there is a big street market with fruits, vegetables, clothes, olives and some other goods. There are about 60 villages in the region and everything is home-made. It is a cultural event in itself.
