Localization Was great, the beach was literally across the street. within a walking distance there were also few delicous restaurants. The hostess was really nice and helpful, prepared in bad weather conditions.

Loved the views of the fortress and sea. There is a trail behind the hotel which leads up the mountain to the fortress which is very nice. Really nice family run business very clean and quiet.
There are a couple of really good bakeries only a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

The hotel is in the old city borders where is not possible to drive or park your car. Owner was so helpful and helped with a parking personally providing us till the first available spot which was close to the hotel. Restaurants, shopping area are withing walking distance. Our main goal was to spent a night there before visiting Nafplion.
Only 5 km from Nafplion, Ignatia Hotel enjoys a waterfront position and offers wonderful views of the sea. Its guestrooms have views of the Argolic Gulf or the city of Nafplion.

Nea Kios is an ideal starting point for visiting many places in Argolis. It is central to the argolic gulf, so one can make visits "radially" in all directions. All the Mycenaean sites are in the range of 20km or less, Epidavros is only 33 km.
It's a small town, so no night life, but Nafplio is really near (10min away by car) and packed with it - it's very touristic.
For the sea, I would recommend to go to Myloi (5km) or better still to to Tolo-Asini (17.5 km of easy road). In the middle of the gulf water is clean but really shallow and a bit muddy.
In Nea Kios, I went to a good grill house/pizzeria ("Greco") on the square where the apartments are.
Also, I went to a very good tavern in Skafidaki ("Kalh Kardia") and one in Kefalari, with delicious local food. It's next to a Revoil gas station, I don't remember the name.
Note: for the archaeological sites, mind the opening days and hours - most close at 15.30, and generally are closed on Tuesdays.

The place is the closest to Nafplio and since it is not overly tourist oriented, the accommodation prices are much more affordable. The city beach is not very visited, but that's why Karatonas beach, which is located near Nafplio, is beautiful and highly recommended.

Nea kios is afishing town, so, the fish hear is delicious.
