One of the best hotels where I had the opportunity to stay. Everything was excellent. I would like to especially mention the staff who make every guest feel like a VIP, also the food that was very delicious and of high quality throughout all our stay (food assortment was huge), and of course, the design of the hotel. Thank you for the wonderful experience!"

Reception service was great, especially Andrew was really helpful and proactive,he resolved most of the issues we were facing. At the check in ,he was very welcoming,he made sure our room preferences were met. Room was nice and clean, in a quiet place with a nice view. Also the bar and his service ,which was with nice music and atmosphere;a good place to have a coffee or a drink. The service of the technician who did maintenance in our room,he has been very quick and came asap. The position was central, you could go with a bus to Rethimno. There was a nice movida until 1 pm,area plenty of restaurant and bar to have a stroll after dinner.Close to the beach (2 mins walk)

Ekavi Hotel, hotel in Loutra

Featuring a pool with sun terrace and a bar overlooking the Cretan Sea, Ekavi Hotel is just a few metres from the sandy beach of Sfakaki in Rethymno.

We had a wonderful stay at Ekavi hotel and we would gladly come back again! Most of all we loved the location of the hotel - it is by the sea. The hotel has its own private beach that has perfect depth for swimming and still safe enough. We were having every breakfast with the view to the sea and some dinners at hotel's taverna. From the very first moment when you enter the hotel you feel that it is a family business and all the staff cares about it. Usually there is an owner Soula at the reception and she helps and gives plenty advices about everything, including travelling around Crete. She speaks English and German fluently. Also the girl and the men working at the hotel's taverna are nice, too. We read some negative comments about the breakfast, but for us it was better that we expected were prepared to. The food was fresh, there were boiled eggs, 2 types of ham, cheese, plenty of feta, tomatoes, cucumbers, some good pastry and ect. Not a huge choice, but the food was good and absolutely sufficient for the breakfast. We also enjoyed dining in the hotel's taverna. The hotel has a deep pool. Simple but tidy rooms. Free local control air conditioner in the room.

Loutra is a real Cretan working village and this is why I chose it. I am trying to buy a house on Crete and I wanted to see how village life worked. It is also on the road to the most important monastery on Crete and has easy access to the National Road, which goes east and west and takes you to the main towns all along the north coast. It also gives you access to both international airports. You can catch a bus from the village in and out of Rethymnon which is useful for site seeing without needing to use your car and nearby there are restaurants, a bakery and shops. I even made an English friend in the village while I was there. I recommend a car though to get around. It's not the most beautiful of the Cretan villages but it is a very convenient place to stay.
