My stay at Avra Imperial exceeded all expectations. A fantastic variety of food across multiple restaurants, incredible pools and large spacious bedrooms.
The staff were accommodating and friendly too.
The location is great, there are some nice local restaurants a short walk away. We also enjoyed exploring the incredible beaches in western Crete.

Apartment 7, top floor. It was as described and expected from the way it was advertised. It was clean and modern. Shower was very nice large walkin shower. no horrible shower curtain like some places have. There are 4 parking spaces. I always got a space for my hire car, but it looks like parking in the street would not be any problem if needed. Not too far to walk to the seafront, uphill on way back but not too arduous (I am 61 years old)

Overall, everything was excellent. The food was delicious, and the area is great for walks. Canya is nearby, making access easy. Andreas at the pool bar ensures that you have a great time. His attitude and expertise are top-notch, and anyone served by him is lucky.

A nice, small city with plenty enough restaurants, bistros and bars, also nearby the beach with nice view. It's rather local experience due to the size of the city. There are regular groceries available, the city beach is all right for a city beach. It's very close to Kissamos (around 10 minutes drive) and if you want to visit Chania, it's only around half an hour drive. It's placed close to the main road on the north of the island, which is important since other roads, non main, are not so fast to drive on Crete. Prices are a little better than in Chania or Rethymno, but it depends on a particular place, overall overpriced restaurants are never worth it there, go for small, local businesses. If your goal is to explore the western side of the island, I'd recommend Kolymvari, Kissamos or around that area. Do not stay in Chania, really...

Typical Greek seaside town with adequate facilities, plenty of tavernas and some good shops. A bit scruffy and run down in places with some derelict buildings, badly maintained public walkways and litter. Some smart hotels but otherwise feels a bit run down. Great location for those wanting to visit tourist destinations across west Crete.

Its rather small and quiet village, with few cafes and restaurants near by. The beach is ok, especially for families. If you walk parallel to the coastline you will find a beautiful ancient monastery.

You should not believe the good reviews this place had.
You should not believe the good reviews this place had. The place is isolated and hard to find. Unpleasant location with building going on around it and many stray dogs. It doesn’t have any hotel facilities but cannot be regarded as a self catering apartment as no facilities to prepare or eat food. It is miserable and we left after one night . We were alone in the place all night
The only interesting place in the vicinity was a monastery about 25 min walk away

The place is very far and inconvenient to get to, there is nothing in the area except the hotel you choose to stay in and you should also pay attention to that, because there are a few good hotels, everything else should stay away from them. The beaches are not so accessible for swimming and there are usually high waves, from October it gets very cold with strong winds in the area which makes it even more difficult to relax and enjoy a good tan or a walk on the beach.

The local government needs to invest more in the infrastructure, and complete half-finished projects, such as installing the missing lampposts and planting trees or shrubs in the erstwhile empty planters. There were also signs of unsightly fly-tipping. Pity that I noticed that there were no bring in sites and locals seemed to dispose of domestic waste without separating the recyclable from the organic.
There is a good supermarket within walking distance, so one can stock up easily. The seaside restaurants serve fresh local food and are very fairly priced. A very quiet town and no evident nightlife.

First of all, the service, the smile and feeling of care from the staff at the hotel. The rooms are very clean, the hotel is designed for families and children, there is enough food and facilities in the hotelIn addition, they are compatible with allergies. My daughter is celiac and they prepared special food for her there! There is a lovely entertainment team that dances during the day and does a children's show every evening. There is also a circus show once a week that the children really enjoyedI would definitely recommend the hotel
A very spacious home away from home in a great central location. The beach was a 3min walk and cafes are just as easily accessible. Being set in a local neighbourhood gave you an insight into local life and seemed quieter than the larger hotel options. The bath was convenient for traveling with small children and the numerous balconies, especially the rooftop, gave everyone some solace.
Our host, Maria was always attentive.
Very basic hotel, good for short stay, location was ok but renting a car is good option if you want to travel around, bus stop is 100 m away - but I was waiting an hour for the bus so if you travel to the airport by bus make sure you have Planty of time to get there.
Professional staff. Location on the route and next to the hotel, bus stop. The room equipment was very good, including a kitchenette. There was even dishwashing liquid, a hair dryer and a clothes dryer in the room.
