Great place to stay with family for your calm vacation. To mention the main benefits of the place:
1. Clean apartment stuffed with all things needed for your stay (everything available if you want to cook). You can feel yourself as at your own residence house not far from the sea :)
2. Very friendly and kind stuff. We were welcoming by amazing person Chrisa who shared with us lots of useful tips (where to eat/where better to go/where to shop etc) She was very responsive and helpful in case of questions from our side during the whole stay.
3. Great green territory with very clean swimming pool with lots of available places and nice view to the sea (acceded expectations)
4. Very good sand beach and not crowded at all (we were coming at 9am and almost all of sun beads were still available). You can take sun-beads with umbrella with deposit for 10 Euro for which you can order anything you want from the bar.
5. Not far from the beach. It was 5 minutes to get to the beach by foot, but to get back around 10min, because you have to go uphill (we took it as benefit to have exercise not to get fat after vacation :))
6. The biggest supermarket of Kalyves on the way to the beach which is super convenient as you don’t have to go somewhere separately to find good products (btw avocado and peach was really delicious from there).

Perfect location right by my favourite stretch of the beach. Amazing view from all windows/balconies. Spacious apartment and spotlessly clean. The hosts are so nice and helpful if you need them. Irina brought me a complimentary 6 pack of water which I really appreciate! All windows/balconies have sliding mosquito nets so for anyone with a phobia like me you can be sure there are no bugs whatsoever and you can also have unobstructed view if you want. I was there by myself and I felt really safe and enjoyed my stay so much I can't wait to be back!

Maria's place was my favourite. We searched something close to the sea and away from city centre. Everything was great, Maria is so kind and warm person. If I have to rent a room again, I"d choose Maria anytime.

The hotel was lovely with very good all inclusive. The TV dosen't show English channels except for BBC News. Right on the beach with the hotel providing free sun beds & unbrellas. The sea was very cold & the beach very course. Not much in the village. You will need a car to get around or a taxi.

The owner is a very lovely lady. She even let me stay over the check out time on my last day, which was just perfect! It is by the seaside so the view is very pretty! You can also go to the little greek town center by foot. The beach is also very close and tavernas too. Supermarket is 1min away by car so the location is perfect!

Kalyves is a traditional Cretan seaside town, with so many good & well priced tavernas to choose from. Our favourites were Elena's and Mythos, both right by the sea. The beaches are lovely and clean and not too busy.
We have been visiting Kalyves on and off since 1990 and it really hasn't changed that much in all this time - it has the same charm now as it did then.

Travelled early May and loved the very relaxed feel to the village. Lots of places to eat delicious Greek food all reasonably priced. Lots of shops and supermarkets. Nice sandy beach too. Drinks in the bars were very reasonable and there were bakeries which opened early morning so you can buy freshly made pastries for breakfast. Totally delightful place.

Very friendly working village. Plenty to do and not far to travel to other areas. Easy access to the airport. Very reasonably priced resort. Great sandy beach. Elena restaurant was very good and the owner Adonis, his brother and staff were very friendly. O Mitsos do the best pita gyros. Apicorno is a lovely bar. Go to Coco Deli for their fresh bougatsa which is to die for .

Its difficult to judge as we were there in the off-season and most places were closed. The restaurants that were open were good and very reasonable.
It was nice to walk around and there are a number of walking trails to ther villages - the one we used was a very nice experience.
The location is perfect....right in the centre of the village, close to restaurants / cafes & bars and a short walk to the beach..
The outside seating areas front and back are comfortable and a nice place to spend some time reading...having a drink...or just watching the world go by...The hosts are lovely & can't do enough to make your stay as perfect as possible... If you plan to visit the seaside village of Kalyves....this is the place to stay !
An unusual and different location for a holiday break. In the very centre of Kalyves amongst the shops and tavernas. Very busy and lively and close to the excellent beaches. You can watch the street theatre from the balcony. The apartment is directly above a good bakers shop and opposite the local open all hours supermarket. All sorts of cafes and tavernas within 50 yards. Plenty of car parking close by next to the sea wall.
It was super clean, the host is very open and friendly and the interior was super nice and with cute details.
An not overcrowded beach is very close, and so is the Bus Station for the Bus from Chania.
The house has an very nice rooftop terrace with a view to the sea. Nice restaurants and also supermarkt are close.
Full recommendation to this place if you wanna join the sea and not being in the middle of overtouristic places.
We had an amazing holiday at Sunrise Suites. Kalyves is a beautiful area, quiet and beautiful and full of wildlife, and the apartment was a short walk from the sea front. Nickos was so helpful, giving us information about trips and organising transfers for us. The apartment was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. We loved the pool.
Very helpful owners, size of the apartment, individual terrace with sea view and a washing machine for our mid-holiday needs.

In Kalyves we could also recommend the restaurant Mythos, were we had several great and affordable dinners.

The apartment is well maintained, everything you need is inside with a terrace for nice breakfast with sea wave sounds. Kitchen well equipped.
Morning walks on the beach to Kalyves area are dhort, fun, and refreshing and a great start for any day.
The staff was amazing. You really can relax, they take care of everything you need.
With their day use option we could check out really late (6pm) for a nominal fee. With this option, we could extend our holiday until the very last moment, until we had to leave to catch our flight.
Lovely garden and pool, 5 min walk from a very nice beach (with free parasols and sun loungers at GK in exchange for a low spend at their bar/ restaurant), beach side taverna 10 mins walk, plenty of shops and restaurants in Kalyves, very friendly and helpful owner.
Everything. This hotel was absolutely amazing. From the working AC, beautiful balcony and staff, they didn't miss one detail! Loved the restaurant downstairs just as much as the hotel itself. Thank you for making it a wonderful stay!
