We stayed in Santorini for 8 days whichw as too long. We did a trip to Crete for only 4 days and should have switched that around as Crete is a much bigger island with more to do.
In Santorini we booked taxis ahead of time for transfers and we ended up catching buses in between which was much cheaper and more fun!
Weather in October was nice but chilly in the evenings.

You never needed to travel for the Sunset while staying at FIROSTFANI! It was the best spot for photos. The restaurants were all equally amazing especially with the views of the caldera. Getting around was not a problem if you wanted to take the bus or catch a taxi. The month of September was pretty perfect since you did not need to deal with all the hustle and bustle of the tourists.

We stayed here in Firostefani for 3 nights. We really enjoyed it. Firostefani is the perfect town to stay at in Santorini imo. It isn't crowded like Fira or Oia. It's not too quiet like Imerovigli either. It has some shops and restaurants, but nothing too busy or noisy.

A really central location with terrific caldera views! Depending on where you stay, there are some places In Firostefani that require fewer steps to navigate compared to other locations along the caldera. There are also some great restaurants at reasonable prices.

I really do not like Firostefani any more.
I really do not like Firostefani any more. I have been there 3 times, the first time in 2005 when I really loved it. The second time, in 2015, I still liked it, however, I would not go back there any more. Too many tourists. Five huge cruise liners would drop off their passengers each day and, together with the tourists staying on the island it became a bit of a nightmare. We did travel throughout the entire island with a hire car, which was great, and also undertook a an afternoon cruise on a yacht, which was fantastic.
Fantastic hotel with a very good location! At the reception we were greeted very kindly and hospitably. We received a free upgrade of the room and a compliment of wine and fruitс. Our room had a private pool and a beautiful view. The hotel is located 10 minutes from Fira. The footpath that connects Fira and Oia is across the street. Breakfast was fantastic, the room large, the bed comfortable. Everything was wonderful, I would come back again and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to spend an unforgettable vacation in Santorini
The staff were amazing. We were let down by the place we were due to stay. Got to Santorini late in the off season. Manage to get a booking on booking.com but due to the off season, the reception was closed. We contacted the hotel and they answered even thought it was very late into the night and came out to let us in. The staff were amazing from reception to cleaners to drivers we ended up staying another night.

super convenient hotel to discover Santorini for an amazing price! you can easily discover Fira, Firostefani & Imerovigli by foot. Bus station for Oia, airport, port... is a 10 minute walk. Nice rooms with balcony. The staff especially was SO lovely!! we got a bunch of useful information in advance about the island, you can arrange a pick up that was less expensive than other taxi's on the island and we felt very taken care of. I'd recommend staying here.
Maria had organised a taxi for us to be collected at the port and everything went so smoothly. The hotel was a short walk to Thira and a short walk to the caldera to watch the sunset, which you cannot miss. Maria took the time to explain all sights & bus routes. I certainly would recommend this hotel to family & friends. Maria also gave us a little token gift on leaving to remember Santorini which is a lovely gesture.
The staff here really went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and special. Yannis at reception really took his time to welcome us to Santorini for our honeymoon and recommend places to visit and how best to navigate. George at the pool bar is personable and passionate about making drinks. He made us a honeymoon signature cocktail. We had a fantastic stay.
The holiday was perfect. The hotel has a wonderful view over the caldera and is in a strategic position for getting around the island. Having breakfast in the morning with a view of the Santorini sea is a unique experience. The hotel is neat and clean. The staff are friendly and Panos is very willing to cater for every need. I will definitely be back.

He put a third chair on the balcony for us so we could enjoy the sunset and breakfast as a family. Perfect for our last night treat in Greece before flying home from Santorini airport.
Great location with amazing view of the sunset. Very clean and Panos gave us great recommendations to help us decide what we wanted to do. Right next door there is a restaurant “Mama Thira” with excellent food and the owners and staff were great. All of these things made our stay in Santorini a great one.

You can easily get to the main walking path between Fira and Oia, but enjoy the peace and quiet of the pool without having people walking by all day. A great launching point to explore Santorini.

The property was super central, and we were upgraded to a room with a view, so we had a fantastic view of the caldera. There was a pool which would have been nice, but it’s not heated and it was very windy during our time in Santorini.
