It's a decent city, just over an hour away from Athens. The seaside promenade has some good tavernas. Perhaps the best part of this town in its excellent Archaeological Museum, located near the bus station.

Chalkida is close enough to travel to nearby villages and still have time to come back and enjoy the area. There are many coffee shops and restaurants that are walking distance. Great place that is close to Athens, about an hour away.

When we first arrived the city did not look too welcoming, but as we saw the city by night and it's nightlife it already looked and felt a lot better.
It just took us 2 days to find the shopping street which was really nice and the prices where good.
Although the language skills of the local populations not the best, so either learn greek or have a lot of patience.

Great place for a short visit!
Great place for a short visit! The view is great from almost everywhere! It's got a castle up on the hill and a lot of great shops on the sea side. Simply walking around town and along the shores will reward you with interesting experiences.
The hotel and the grounds are even more beautiful than in the photos. The staff is lovely, the breakfast was excellent, the pool area and the beach perfect for a lazy, sunny day. The rooms are beautifully decorated, they have a huge smart tv, the bed is very comfortable, there are also robes and slippers.
All in all we loved the hotel - the best one we stayed at in Greece so far and we've been travelling to Greece for over a decade - and if we ever come back in this area, we will definitely stay here again.

The owner was super nice and ensured that me and my family has everything nessecary to enjoy our stay. She was so well organised.
Beds and rooms were well spaced and comfortable.
Clean sheets and towels available as well.
The residence was very near the city center and finding a parking spot was never a problem. Worth mentioning that cafe, patisserie, restaurants and supermarket are max 50m away.
Thanx once again to make our vacation unique.
A great hotel in the quiet side of Chalkida, just near the sea. The Hotel is calm and quiet, with comfortable rooms, good WIFI and GREAT breakfast which is made just for you upon your request (it is not a big buffet like in other places, just tell them what you want and they'll make it for you).
It was too cold for the swimming pool, but it looks great.
There are 2-3 Tavernas within a walking distance.
This is a very good place to stay if visiting Chalkida and want to stay in the center. The location is fantastic and is only 4 min walk from the waterfront where you will find all the bars and restaurants. The room is spacious and has a cooking hob, microwave, sofa bed, and a place to hang clothes (not a closet). The bed was comfortable and the pillows might have be the best pillows I slept on.
The suite was modern and very comfortable. It had a living room containing 2 large leather arm chairs and a sofa, a separate bedroom, and a very large balcony with table and chairs. The bathroom was large and modern.
The hotel is very close to the harbour boardwalk, and surrounded by many cafes, pâtisseries, and restaurants.
An excellent place to stay near the sea ⛵ Well made apartment, a very helpful host:) Easy check in-check out process without a personal contact. Cafe-restaurants-super market and other facilities are in a very short distance. We will definitely book the same apartment again in our next escape outside of the city 🌆
The location was amazing, the apartment was next to the sea and right in the centre of the city. Also, the apartment was really nice and clean too. The host was very welcoming and answered all our questions immediately. I would recommend staying in Nostos Apartment if you ever visit Chalkida!!
The view was fantastic. One could not ask for a better location to see one of the most historical locations in Greece. We also enjoyed listening to the music that filled the air and people enjoying the walk below our balcony. The staff and owner were welcoming and the service was great.
Very good location- close to the Halkida train station, a lot of cafees and taverns nearby, in front of the hotel after crossing the Old bridge - fine beach, very good fish Gianni's restaurant with a sunset wiew. Good staff. Good breakfast.
Beautifully, freshly renovated apartment with everything you could need for a short stay in Chalkida. There were even snacks and a free parking spot right nearby, and Antigone was very responsive and helpful.
