Parking is difficult in the center, need to use a paid parking place. You can take a walk on the Apolloniados street that gets closed for cars in the evening.

I guess it is the right city for beach vacations. Not much to do If you are looking for historical attractions I would not rate Alexanroupoli high. It has a few very small museums. Two of them I've visited. It is possible to walk to them. One at the city center ethnography museum. I'd recommend visiting. It won't take a lot of time, but the atmosphere there is nice.
Also, there is a small archeological museum, something like 2,5 km away from the center.
The local tavernas has a tasty food. the prices are reasonable.
The beaches are slightly out of the city, but not too far. Nice sand

A great place for beach life and to explore the area, take a trip off the main drag and explore the mountains and plains for the area , its was busy in the centre off season, prepare for crowds when the summer hits. restaurants in the area are hit and miss with prices around 30 euro for two for a very basic meal ,without alcohol in 2023, want fish or seafood then add a lot more. I cant believe they are still charging 2-3 euro for a small portion of bread which seems to be mandatory, english not spoken everywhere, bring your phase book. easy access to islands if you can find a place to book your ferry.

Alexandroupoli (Dedeağaç) is the nearest town in Greece to Turkish border. Therefore it attracts lots of Turkish tourists especially on weekends. There are many good taverns amd bars. We like it very much. I would recommend Agora for meat lunch, Nisiotiko and Saint George's Tavern in Makri (10km) for seafood dinner. Avoid sundays if you like to do some shopping all shops are closed.
We love everything about the house. Especially cleaning of the house was perfect. Location was also great, very near to best restaurants, cafes and other places, every important places are just a walk away. From Wi-Fi to netflix all opportunities work perfectly. This house gives the best what it offers. House owner Sakis is so kind and helpful. We are very delighted to stay here, strongly recommended. This house will be always in my first choice for the Alexandroupoli.
I love this hotel. This is my second stay there. And if I visit Alexandroupolis again I will definitely stay here. Very clean and big rooms. The bathroom is spacious. They provide small soaps and shampoos. The location is great. The hotel is right in the center. There are many great restaurants, cafes and taverns within five minutes walking distance. The open buffet breakfast is also great for 5 euros. The reception people and hotel staff is very nice people as well.
Very friendly owner. We did had later check in , he waited for us greeted. There is private secure parking in from of the hotel, so we could leave our car just right next to the hotel door. We god good room on the second floor with small balcony and sea view, and even we stayed for one night, it was nice to get this view anyway. Breakfast was good and location of hotel is in good distance to the sea, literally 5-7 minutes max and also very close to the center.
The location of the hotel was great, walking distance to the city center, right on the beach. The staff was polite and friendly.

It is difficult to find breakfast in boutique hotels in Greece, but the breakfast of the hotel was very good, I prefer this hotel especially for breakfast.

The hotel is clean comfortable. The room is big enough to stay with a three year old. Breakfast buffet is very nice. Staff is very friendly. They gifted my daughter a little teddy bear upon arrival that is a great gesture. We came off season in November so we didn’t use the pool or the beach. Overall it is a good experience.
