Staff made this hotel. Friendly, accommodating, even the older lady made an effort to speak to us. View was amazing. Loved our little balcony. Sorry but don't know his name, but guy who checked us in with the greek/cockney accent was SOOO friendly. Thought breakfast was fantastic, thank you to staff.

A wonderfully peaceful place to stay. Only 8 rooms in the property. Rooms very spacious, good facilities..fridge, kettle and basic crockery in rooms. Air conditioning very effective. Fabulous pool. We had dinner and breakfast there once. Both meals were delicious. We would have been happy to eat there more often, but wanted to try other restaurants. We didn't have a bad meal the entire time we were in this part o crete. You do need a car and be a confident driver yo drive the local roads. We spent each day visiting the many local beaches and tavernas. We couldn't believe how quiet they were in August..it was amazing.the photos of the property are entirely accurate.

It was a perfect stay. It's not that touristic so thats a bonus for me. It was a quite little family run place so you can appreciate more how raw it is. It also has a restaurant part of the hotel and the food was brilliant and cheap. There is also a place to go for a walk a visit the center of the town, there is also a cute little church near by. It is really close to preveli beach so its a perfect place for a stop over. Parking was also perfect. In the morning there is a beautiful view to have a coffee since we had like a balcony.

This is a quite remote, rural area, off the tourist track...
This is a quite remote, rural area, off the tourist track but not TOO far from beaches and seaside towns (all within half an hour). Rethymnon is 45 minutes north if you want to visit but not stay in the 'city' and I went to Matala, which is an hour away. Agia Galini is the nearest 'resort' town. The best thing in the area are the breathtaking views around Mt.Kedros. As I'm into photography and hiking, this was three days of paradise. There's noting really in Aktounta village itself but Spili, nearby, has supermarkets, tourist shops and places to eat. Driving around the small roads of this area makes you feel like you're in another world - the old Crete of years ago.
