The local area is good for restaurants, vineyards, activities like boat trips and horse riding. There are some interesting historical sites (castle and bronze age settlement) close by. I really wish we could have stayed for longer than a week to see more of the locality. The bus can be a bit hit and miss, but a really cheap way to access the north of the island, Fira and Oia.

Beautiful area. Wonderful restaurants in the village.
Beautiful area. Wonderful restaurants in the village. Loved the Venetian castle which has coffee and food. You must visit the ancient city. The locals over all were very friendly and helpful. Please note-there are a lot of homeless animals. Be prepared for it.

Akrotiri is a small place in the southern part of the island of Santorini, from which one can see the caldera and also experience beautiful sunsets. There is a small supermarket and a clothing store as well as restaurants and an art shop there. Also important are the Akrotiri Castle and the proximity to the Red Beach and the archaeological site, which can be reached on foot. There are also horses nearby that you can ride to the beach. Megalochori, a small beautiful village nearby, can be reached by bus to Fira. An ideal place to enjoy the sun in the south and to do tours of the island from there.

This area of Santorini was just perfect for us.
This area of Santorini was just perfect for us. Memorable views, from the caldera to the sunset, Oia & Fira in the distance.
The archeological site and the Lost Atlantis museum are very close for a jump into myth and real history of the island. The best beaches for snorkling are in this southern coast, between Vlichada and the Lighthouse. Many family run restaurants, super markets and amenities are at reach. And the Horst Riding experience with a wild gallop on the eros beacj is roght there .. strongly recommended.

I liked the fact it was close to facilities which l forgot to mention before! Supermarket, restaurants, (loved Porto Bello restaurant), cafes & chemist etc! Also car hire available! All short walk away!
Enjoyed a trip to the ancient archeological site & the museum of The Lost City of Atlantis! Also Red beach & Caldera! Lovely catamaran boat cruise round island with bbq & wine although l ghoughg bit pricey.
We were greeted by George at the property and made to feel very welcome. He provided us with advise on things to do and assisted us with bookings. It made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The accommodation was a great base to explore the island and was away from the busy tourist areas and very peaceful and quite. The best beaches on the island are nearby and easy to reach. We enjoyed our walks into Akrotiri which has shops and restaurants. Everyone talks about the sunsets in Santorini but the sunrise from the apartment is unbeatable.
Martha, the host, and her husband were absolutely amazing. They were always available to assist and their passion for their beautiful hotel was evident. Everything was meticulously taken care of, and the unbelievably stunning view added to the charm. The breakfast was delightful, featuring homemade sweet spreads that we absolutely loved. Upon departure, they even gave us a little something to take with us. This is the place to be in Santorini! Look no further.
Thank you so much for everything, Pancratium!!

Staff is great. There was a problem with AC in the room. They moved us right away to an other one. On checkout date our flight back was late in the evening and the staff gave us the opportunity to have a very late checkout at 8PM. for free. Room and pool very clean. lovely patio in each room. Across the road the bar-restaurant offers one of best sunsets views in Santorini. I would suggest the hotel for people with a rented car but bus stop is just in front of the hotel (both directions).
maybe the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. spacious room with a comfortable jacuzzi.. the bed and the furniture offer the feeling of luxury and comfort you need for your vacation. The pool restaurant is always open and you can find what you need. the staff there are real professionals, they will help you choose wine and the meal that will suit you. Don't forget to enjoy a glass of local wine at sunset.. The view of the Santorini caldera and volcano will be unforgettable.
We loved everything about the apartment. It’s amazingly designed, super clean and offers all the comfort you could ask for.
We also really liked that it’s located in Akrotiri, away from all the mass tourism in Oia. But as the island is so small, it’s easy to get there by car or scooter.
But besides that Jacob and his family were amazing and so helpful. Thank you very much!
I would highly recommend this accomodation for a trip to Santorini.
Excellent hotel with Santorini Caldera View. Very responsive staff who attended our every need and made us feel at home. Arranged transportation and tours for us. Very clean and comfortable pool to cool off in. Huge delicious breakfast with a variety of foods to meet everyone’s dietary needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would definitely recommend.
We loved staying here!! The staff greeted us warmly and made sure we had everything we needed. Plenty of space to park. Each morning we woke up to a wonderful, homemade breakfast outside on our patio. It was delicious and the view is incredible!! We loved staying here and would gladly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing stay in Santorini.
This is an amazing location! You’re right on the beach and the cave itself is super comfortable. We slept so well in the cool darkness. And we loved sitting on our patio. It is an extremely unique property with a ton of interesting history. And it is far away from the tourist crowds, but close enough to drive to all Santorini has to offer.
We had the biggest suite (#9) that has the entire rooftop with a hot tub. It had a really nice view and was huge. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was really good with a nice variety. Parking was easy (renting a car is a must - for Santorini in general!). Martha was very helpful with recommendations and whenever we had a question!
stunning views, staff was so friendly and welcoming. very helpful finding local dinning and activities, anything you wanted they facilitated. very clean and well kept property, I loved how the property was private and a little outside the heart of Santorini, yet still easy to taxi or ATV to there or other towns.
Excellent place to stay at in Santorini. Very clean and very pretty. The owner is a very nice and wonderful person, kind and helpful. Helped us with a taxi and a late arrival issue. The breakfast was amazing, very tasty and very filling. Overall - just a wonderful experience! I really recommend!
Excellent breakfast, location, facilities and staff. Parking very easy around the hotel. Many greek taverns walking distance. Red beach and ancient Akrotiri very near as well (walking distance). Highly recommended to stay in Santorini out of expensive areas.
The views from the hotel are spectacular. No words can describe it! The staff was very polite and friendly. Food was good, no complains. The room was cleaned every day, and fresh towels were provided. We did enjoy our stay at Kalestesia Suites Santorini.
The stuff was amazing! They treated us really good. Everybody was super polite. If you ever go to Santorini, do not hesitate to book a room at Goulielmos Hotel. You will not regret!
Nice quiet family run Hotel on a quieter part of Santorini. We enjoyed being away from the crowds. A rental car is a necessity. Definitely a good value on expensive Santorini Island.
Our first visit to Santorini and it did not disappoint! Highly recommend Black Diamond Suites! Kostas and Anna took amazing care of us the entire time we were there!
