The location is off the beaten track, so much so that the GPS gets it wrong (the hosts will help with directions, and then it's easy to find).
But what an authentic place this is! We had a quiet evening in the countryside and a lovely chat with the owners, who were also proud to offer a tasting of their wine and cha-cha, both delicious!
Breakfast was nice, with homemade cheeses and bread.

The good features first: the house, set in a lovely garden, offers spacious rooms on the upper level (we stayed in a pleasant one with its own bathroom, although the mattress seemed thin and not the most comfortable we've ever slept on). There's a large living room area with lots of space to stretch out, read, do yoga, etc. The hostess is very pleasant and she made us feel very welcome. Using our phones to translate, we asked about dinner and she was able to prepare something according to our dietary requirements (vegetarian, gluten-free) and it was very nice...all washed down by a bottle of their exquisite wine. She really is a gem and a great reason to stay here.
The part we enjoyed far less was the unfriendly - almost hostile - attitude of her husband who didn't smile to us once, didn't welcome us, didn't once say thank you for our custom or for handing over the payment when we left...and really just did not seem well-suited to the hospitality industry. He may be a lovely person, but it certainly did not show in our brief interaction with him.
