Loved this hotel with its magnificent grounds, well trained, smart staff and good food. Really comfortable roomy bedroom and excellent shiney bathroom. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Good for walking to Hay Tor and for supporting 10 Tors walkers when they all arrive back in Okehampton!

Staff very welcoming.
Very quick check in and shown to our rooms.
The rooms were beautifully presented. Very stylish, with plenty of natural light.
Everything we needed for a relaxing evening before our son's wedding.
We had also booked a table for dinner and the food was excellent.
We went to bed early, with the window open and it was very quiet - we woke to birdsong in the morning.
Breakfast was great value for money and a great start to our day.
Plenty of room for hanging our outfits and getting ready in the morning.

Quaint old building with some modern extensions. Friendly owner (Julie). Comfy bed, firm mattress. Parking right outside. Easy and quite nice walk 5 - 10 mins into Totnes. Nice garden to sit in if warm and sunny. Breakfast food was good. Quiet establishment and area.

Live and Let Live rooms were nice but the second bed was not set up on our arrival (with 2 sleeping children, 10pm at night), and there was no bedding ready. The member of staff who greeted us said that he did not know how to make the bed and if there was no bedding ready there wasn't anything that he could do. We found some bedding in one of the cupboards and had to make the bed ourselves.
The breakfast available was incredibly basic, served by a lovely man but who was not familiar with the process at all.
Overall very disappointing service for the amount paid
